  1. Should I be frustrated or am I wrong?

Let's don't get too off base. Rotating was done in the old days (and still is) to even out tire wear. These days, with a lot of vehicles having limited slip technology, uneven rear tire wear isn't an issue. Newer suspensions with virtually no toe in or camber does the same for front tires. We...
  2. Approach Detection with Welcome/Farewell Exterior Lighting"

You can turn those lights on from about 75 feet from your car. Unless you're blind, you can certainly tell if anyone is near it.
  3. Approach Detection with Welcome/Farewell Exterior Lighting"

Via Forscan. What bothers me is how many folks find the welcoming functions, may I say... Hateful! They're certainly nice if you don't have a lit garage, or you want to tell if someone is lurking around your ride. Puzzles me.
  4. Dark Horse Inside of Living Room

Parking a motorcycle in the living room is a sign of being single. Or soon will be!
  5. A/C, air conditioning, turning off between cold restarts

My fist foray with auto-temp HVAC was a 1983 Couger. It wasn't all that good as the controls were vacuum operated. I lived in Colorado at the time, and going uphill always caused the unit to be too cool or too warm. PITA! The 2024 HVAC in my Mustang and the one in my 2019 Ranger are all but...
  6. 24HR Clock Settings - Reverts to 12

I agree in part. It appears the software update doesn't read the current owner's setup status. This is a shortcoming easily fixed in my opinion. I've not seen the 12/24 hour issue, but I have seen the color change, etc. One change I did notice is the lane keeping display which is actually...
  7. Wondering how many other owners have interior buzzes and rattles

I've mentioned this before. If you want a real rattle, leave the back seats down!
  8. How to TURN THIS OFF

I'm not you, but I'd just turn down the sensitivity, but otherwise leave it be. If you do just turn it down, and it still goes off, you're too close to the person in front of you. I leave the one in my Ranger on max, and more than once it paid off.
  9. What Can I Expect When I Start my 2024 GT in a Month?

I've never owned a garage kitty which is only driven 20 or so miles a year. So I really can't say what will happen to you, once the engine fires up? Just remember to open the garage door before you do!
  10. Phone Holder recommendations?

The "tray" is just that, and the Premium up have charging built in the 2024s. The tray charging was deleted on some models on the 2025. There is a learning curve for cellphones but once you learn the operation, you'll never need to touch the phone whatever it is. The only draw back, is...
  11. Mysterious unused connector in engine bay

I guess I should be happy, or at least contented! It could be a Nissan-made slip joint (like the one in their CVT) or one built like the oil/balance shaft in a 2.7L Eco-Boost. When it fails, it will always be in the most inappropriate time and place. Mr. Murphy is still alive and well!
  12. Phone Holder recommendations?

Here is the problem with cellphone holders. Almost all require a suction cup, while a few use available cup holders. There is even one magnetic unit, and one which clips to an HVAC vent. With almost no exception, wherever they're mounted, they're in the coverage area of the airbags. About all...
  13. Phone Holder recommendations?

If you're using BluTooth or WiFi (depends on phone) shouldn't matter where the phone is within the car.
  14. Mysterious unused connector in engine bay

It is easy to see why the electric steering isn't as robust as one would think. The question is, how long does the belt last? At least it is not running in oil!
  15. Mysterious unused connector in engine bay

The steering hydraulics still operate (you really can't steer without them), but are essentially neutralized. It might be my imagination, but it appears to modify the transmission programming as well. When you do pull the plug, and scan the modules, there are other things changed, but my...
  16. Bouncy Ride

This has more to do with the wheelbase length as anything. While that sounds odd, it really isn't. Pavement (usually asphalt) has a tendency to bunch up under stopping and acceleration forces (near intersections more than on even stretches). This causes the pavement to become slightly undulated...
  17. 60th Anniversary Cars -- Red Center Cap Availability?

If you're really into decorating your ride.....
  18. Test Drove a Mustang GT - drive review

One needs to remember that 1 or 2 is really ugly when "ten" is the standard for the best. I call it the "Bo Derek" standard
  19. Installing Tail Light Sequencer.. [in Australia]

Even the front turn signals are sequential. Clever me thinks!
