We didnt rush anything out. HPT let us all know it was coming and we got working on tunes. And some of the big name guys had it several weeks before even us normal tuners. Then when they announced it, the ones of us that had cars we could dev on had tunes ready. This isnt a tuning issue, its...
It will get fixed. I have another guy HPT is struggling getting his car read. Their engineer told me there are a very small handful of strategy’s that they haven’t been able to finish defining yet with their software. And the firmware doesn’t know the cars controller yet. Once they get it...
The reality is if you run only 93 but you are a manual car, then not much to gain. Its the auto cars that really feel the difference. The tq management reduced or eliminated in some scenarios, the shift points raised to 7500-7800. Pair that with our VCT settings that have been hand crafted...
This was mine full E85 tuned (by me), completely stock down to the paper air filters. 101f shop temps, 2900da and heat soaked. I think I did pretty well with mine.
On a stone stock manual car with 93 only I would say no. The value is for the 10R80 guys who are gimped by tq management and short shifting. Moving the shift points out to 7500-7800rpm is the sweet spot once you strip out the majority of the tq management. Getting the 10R80 to shift nicer too...
I can only comment on OEM active exhaust and cruising and messing around in quiet is fine. Extended WOT pulls or track duty would be a no for sure.
We can help keep the temps down now since we can tune them by disabling the DFCO or decel fuel cut off. That will keep fuel going into the...
You should not be using quiet mode at the track or with extended WOT. Quiet mode is limited at WOT to .60 or 60% open. Do not use quiet mode at the track.
piss poor gas mileage. That’s all I can think of. Maybe getting some bad winter blend where you are. Or leaving E in the tank too long and not running it through. Before winter you’ll want to run it all out and switch to a fresh tank of 93. Make sure you have a 93 tune.
Yeah we (P1 ownership) work with them closely and I dont believe they saw any of this coming. Its going to be a while for them to get to this point im hearing. They are still sorting out their product for the s550.
So these MG1 PCMs arent locked. They are encrypted. They dont need to be unlocked, you just need to have the OEM encryption keys to do the key exchange to write the tunes. Ford wont be able to lock us out. Unless they change the encryption keys. Which I dont think they can or would do over...
More transparency coming, strap in.
In all honesty thats more E content that you probably need. We see peak knock protection around e50-e60 actually. The reason full E is preferred is the slight extra cooling you get from that extra ethanol and silly enough its just easier to straight pump...
Yeah we have been getting very little info from HPT and there are still a lot of questions in the air. I KNOW for a fact that they rushed this out because SCT leaked they were going to have their s650 solution on this monday (tomorrow). HPT wanted to be first to market. They are about 75%...
No the RTD3+ isnt supported. Only the RTD4 for TDN. And I dont know about OTA updates, but realize that if the car does get updates OTA for the PCM/TCM, then you can just flash your tune back on the car.
For the MPVI devices, I use an MPVI2+ and it works with VCM editor/scanner, but I had...
We can set it however you want. Each mode has its own pedal demand. Normal I usually set 1:1 perfectly linear to the throttle blade. Sport is more advanced in the initial bite and gets to WOT faster. Track leave alone. And drag is like a steep incline to 90% pedal that puts you at 100%...
