So factory fuel cut is 7400?
Also, the speed limiter at 140 and change is pretty damn low for a car like this. It'd be a shame if the PP equipped cars are the same. That would be lower than the previous gen, IIRC.
EDIT: Thanks for the video and graph! Can't wait to see what changes happen...
The real tell is the trap speed in the 1/4. We know the 6M cars have junk ratios (and not an aggressive enough rear gear, IMHO) and it trapped what...almost 115 in the recent MT test? Strapping a 10A to that is going to add a hell of a lot more MPH.
If these cars can consistently trap around...
It is funny how many of the "looks" comments I've been reading on nearly every site this car is on.
Remember folks...you may not like it, but, Function-Over-Form. This is KEY in racing.
EDIT: This kind of reminds me of what happened in 2016 with the Ford GT and the 3.5 Ecoboost. "Why not a...
Well...I'm a HUGE fan of this. The closest I'll ever get to this is in a video game, unfortunately...but damn, what a cool car. I feel like this is a "you either get it - or you don't" type of car.
EDIT: We also have to remember, NO ONE is doing this kind of thing in this modern era right...
This may be a stretch of a guess...but could Ford be bringing a serious entry to the LMP class of racing? Perhaps they want to battle it out with Cadillac and the rest of the lot.
We know they are getting DEEP in racing now with the Mustang name...
EDIT: Also, that GTD (street version of the...
If you could...can you post some 2-piece delicious-ness for us? Something with some LIPS. YUM!
Bonus points if you post something that has an applicable offset so we can see the lip size!
Thanks!
In regards to the GT, the braking and skid pad numbers were really good! Like others have mentioned, though, the acceleration times are pretty weak. That 1/4 mile trap speed in particular is absurdly low...like not even 112mph?
I will say, launching this car with that tall first gear and...
How high is the GT's fuel cut? Is it 7500 as well?
EDIT: Yeah, just double checked. 7500 for both. So the DH with the Tremec is neutered. Makes perfect sense. /s
A quick question about the soft limiter...I haven't heard anything about that on the GT models with the numerous reviews that were published. Does that mean only the DH has one?
100% I'm so lost on this. I don't even know why this is a thing on a supposedly high performance machine...
If you don't mind waiting, you will definitely find one for MSRP...and in the not too distant future, under MSRP.
The other option is to find yourself a broker/consultant who has a passion for these things and they can find you one. I do exactly that (Canada only, sorry) and am willing to bet...
Yeah, the other brands have packages like this. If you go to their respective websites, you can see what kind of packages and models they have offered in the past and will definitely continue to offer in the present/future. The Mustang is one of the most customized cars ever produced...the...
Is there any more clarification on this "soft-limiter" thing that C&D and MT mentioned? Above all else, for me at least, that kind of thing is a massive killer of engine character. Wasn't this engine beefed up to handle more revs? If it can't sweep to it's redline naturally, that's a HUGE bummer.
IMHO, I would go with RTR, Roush or Steeda over Hennessey. RTR specifically is a very nice choice because we've seen what they have already done with the S650 and they also have Ford's blessing which is 100% more appealing.
99% of the time, though, if all you want is the performance increase...
Wait until you can drive both (or find a few used S550's and have a go), then make a decision. An automatic will never scratch the itch that a manual car can and vice versa. One isn't "better" than the other, it's just preference. Number sheets vs driving enjoyment, etc.
EDIT: One point...
Sorry to interrupt with my caveman observations...
...but I need to know the exhaust specifications on this car. If they are using stock manifolds as well...just dang, what a great sounding car!
