Hehe nice. I don't doubt your experience has been frustrating. I'll add though that logging a ticket was only way I got their attention; from there, HPT support was responsive. Messaged me about once every day or two until I was up and running.
I respect the thinking, I do, but take the thought to its logical conclusion: something goes wrong on your car, say, an oil leak. You take it in, they replace a seal, all is well. Two weeks later, it begins leaking again. This time they take off the valve cover, and fix more seals. All's...
I second the notion that there's still plenty to do, even on a stock car. For one thing taking command over the basis: MAF calibration; SD calibration; understanding when, where, and how torque limiters come into play; and advancing timing are all super, super key. Getting control over these...
Quick update: I've been going MAD trying to get to the bottom of the AD Counts issue. There's a sensor parameter I can add to graphs and histograms, but it won't populate:
When I look for a channel to add tho:
Womp womp... Asking HPTuners folks for some help. Part of me wonders if...
Ok, some weirdness from other pockets...
I've been trying to work on MAF tuning, where I've always historically began, and ran up against this MAF map for bank 1; bank 2 will likely need its own calibration:
SENT A/D is apparently a raw count corresponding to voltage. While researching how...
First of all, I don't know, and I'd be skeptical of anyone who said they did.
That said, I know that Eric & Friends over at HPTuners discovered an exploit, I can personally verify it works, and I think that now that the genie is out of the bottle, there's no way to get it back in. If I can...
Side feature... In the menus, car still thinks I've got that OTA update installed; it's in the history, even though I rolled back. Might sync on the backend somewhere, but interesting spoofing possibilities...
Ok, so: first learning experience. HPTuners engineer suggested that I push the old .HPT file on, and now I just feel plain derpy, of course. So yes, I was able to load my previous .HPT file and replace the new OS with the old one. In the process, I was succesfully able to write the stock map...
Well.. maybe. HPTuners says their engineer hasn't gotten to me yet. I avoided the update like avoiding Android updates that might shut out a root exploit.
Any reason to think the update itself is the causal factor I'm failing checksum and not just waiting in the HPTuners engineer's queue?
