  1. If I had the money...

I think this looks better than the outgoing GT due to the more aesthetically pleasing dash to axle ratio. But in everything but 0-60 it will be a worse performer: heavier, worse weight distribution, and bigger. I think Mercedes cheaped out by not tweaking this chassis to have a longer dash to...
  2. Throttle House: Dark Horse Mustang vs 392 Challenger vs Camaro ( Drag Race , Roll Race & Track Times )

Great review, as always. It is a very impressive time, but those Trofeo RS tires are perhaps the grippiest tires ever fitted to a production vehicle, so I'm not totally surprised (competitor to Cup 2R tires). And they have 6 years of additional tire tech development over the ZL1 1LE Goodyear...
  3. Throttle House: 2024 Mustang GTPP vs Camaro SS 1LE - Drag Race & Lap Times

ZL1 comes standard with a beefed up Tremec 6 speed. A10 is an option.
  4. Throttle House: 2024 Mustang GTPP vs Camaro SS 1LE - Drag Race & Lap Times

Stop while you’re ahead—good job. You should just forget watching after the track comparison portion where Thomas says getting out of the Mustang and into the SS is like getting out of a pickup truck and into a Porsche.
  5. Whipple or Ford Supercharger?

Are you sure? 2018-2021 MUSTANG GT 750HP SUPERCHARGER KIT| Part Details for M-6066-M8 | Ford Performance Parts "This new Mustang GT Supercharger has been developed by Ford Performance in partnership with Roush Performance, utilizing engineering expertise from both companies. Ford...
  6. Whipple or Ford Supercharger?

The Gen 3 FP kit was a Roush, which uses an Eaton 2.65 roots blower. The Whipple is a twin screw…are you sure Ford is switching the official FP kit from a Roush to a Whipple? I know Whipple and others (procharger) have developed kits for the Gen 4 Coyote. But I’d be surprised if FP isn’t working...
  7. S650 vs S550 weight on the scales

Something’s amiss. Several sources, including Ford, published the S650 as heavier than the S550. Ford’s own website says the base S650 GT is 3,830 lbs, and claims around 3,710 or so for the base S550 GT. Also, both Car and Driver and Motortrend show 150+ lbs weight gain over similar trims. Even...
  8. Gen 1-4 Coyotes on the same dyno, same day by American Muscle

Gen 3 made more power up to 6500 rpm and had a flatter high rpm torque curve. That could explain why a 2018 GT M6 traps the same as a 500 hp dark horse M6 despite the DH having a better power to weight ratio.
  9. Official: 2025 Mustang GTD Revealed! 800+ HP 5.2L V8, Pushrod Suspension, $300K MSRP

Not sure on the German engine rating laws or if it’s just a perception or reputation thing e.g., “doing more with less”. The US SAE rated number isn’t the most hp a us rated engine will make. It’s the rated hp under certain conditions. If I recall it’s 78 deg F at about 14.2 or 14.3 psi...
  10. Official: 2025 Mustang GTD Revealed! 800+ HP 5.2L V8, Pushrod Suspension, $300K MSRP

Nah, this is not completely correct. Europe uses PS which is a slightly smaller value than American hp. So, the McLaren 720S is rated at 720 PS which equals 710 us hp. That said, the way they rate them differs. Most American manufacturers now use the SAE rating which is the power at the crank...
  11. Official: 2025 Mustang GTD Revealed! 800+ HP 5.2L V8, Pushrod Suspension, $300K MSRP

I’m super impressed with the style and specs of the GTD, and I’m a 6th Gen Camaro ZL1 owner (but also former 2018 Mustang GT owner). I do wish they made it a true “front-mid engine” but that would have required additional engineering and chassis tweaks. That said, GM could probably match the GTD...
  12. 2024 Mustang GT/EcoBoost Performance Track Testing: 0-60 MPH, 1/4 Mile, Braking & Skid Pad

I think people were expecting it to be faster than a 2010 Camaro SS M6 (111 mph) or a 2011 Mustang GT M6 (110.6 mph).
  13. 2024 Mustang GT/EcoBoost Performance Track Testing: 0-60 MPH, 1/4 Mile, Braking & Skid Pad

I quoted other Edmunds past tests for more of an apples to apples comparison. Look at the 1/4 mile trap speeds. All within 1 mph of each other, and this is the brand new 486 hp GT compared to cars from 2010/2011 that have 412 hp (GT) and 426 hp (SS). As far as 0-60, I don't think Edmunds uses...
  14. 2024 Mustang GT/EcoBoost Performance Track Testing: 0-60 MPH, 1/4 Mile, Braking & Skid Pad

Underwhelming. 0-60 in 4.8, 1/4 mile in 12.7 at 111.6 mph. It's almost a tie with a 2011 GT M6 that Edmunds tested back then: 4.8, 13.0 at 110.6 mph. 486 hp vs 412 hp. That's what a bad gear ratio change and extra 250 lbs will do, I suppose. For another data point, Car and Driver tested a 2010...
  15. SavageGeese Dark Horse Mustang Review

I’m about 20 mins into the video. It’s pretty good so far, surprisingly, I find myself liking the DH exterior styling more after what I’ve seen thus far. I still don’t love the front overhang, but overall it’s growing on me. I like the chiseled look of the rest of the body lines. Perhaps an S650...
  16. SavageGeese Dark Horse Mustang Review

They weren’t talking about only the dark horse. They were talking about the entire S650 development. Plenty of millennials can afford Ecoboost and GT Mustangs. Some can afford DH. But yes, older millennials are turning 43 this year.
  17. Challenger or S650

I agree. The Challenger looks best from the front and front 1/4 view. Side view is OK but the dash to axle ratio isn’t quite long enough. The A pillar and windshield need to be slightly further back. The side view is too bulky in the rear quarter panels. And from straight on rear view it’s too...
  18. PP axle ratio negated by larger tire

I thought you were comparing 275/35 to the 275/40 on the PP. and 255/40 isn’t nearly enough tire even on a stock GT. Still; 275/35 are 0.5” smaller Dia than even the small 255/40. It won’t look good IMO. 295/35 would match the 255/40 but then you’d need much wider wheels.
  19. PP axle ratio negated by larger tire

The smaller dia tire won’t fill the fender well very well, and will leave huge fender gaps. The tire will look too small on the car. 2nd: by going to a smaller dia tire you’re reducing the contact patch since it’s affected by the diameter (larger dia tire has longer contact patch front to back)...
  20. Should I start my Youtube Channel with my 24 GT?

I know what you mean. Top YouTube car Reviewers like Throttle house, autotrader UK, and Jason Cammisa w/Hagerty spend a lot of time producing and planning. Not just walking around with a camera rambling and shaking the viewer to death. They also don’t use cell phones for their footage.
