Yes, I agree with you, except I do think the S650 resembles the Camaro more than the S550 does. And my argument wasn’t with you; more so the folks that claim the two look nothing alike, of which there were a few in this thread.
Oh, you’re old, congratulations. And I used to own a 2018 Mustang GT. So I’m certainly not blind. I can see the graphical differences, and can see the similarities. Those who deny there’s similarities between the cars don’t have a keen eye.
The 6th Gen Camaro started as a 2016 model; there was no napkin sketch theft. And yes, the S650 has a striking resemblance to the 6th Gen Camaro. Ford even copied some of the body lines nearly identically, including the upward sweep of the rear quarter window framing. Those that can’t see it are...
Yes, I agree—similar to how a Rolex or other fine watch can be a piece of fine art, classy analog gauges can be made into fine art in high cost cars. Ever seen a Pagani’s gauges??? Wow. A digital screen just doesn’t scream luxury, especially when you can get the same thing in an economy car. Not...
By integrate we are talking about designing the screens to have a flow or design language with the rest of the interior, and not look like they are just tacked on top of a dash, where they stick up without any style or elegance. The S650 Mustang screens are just two screens but have the look of...
I didn’t say that—your statement is too “all or nothing”. Interiors definitely play a part in how a car feels to the driver. Vibe, feel, whatever you want to call it. There’s a reason Corvette interiors don’t look like a Silverado.
Of course, but in this case, from a design integration standpoint, the tacked on screens aren’t good design. They could make a big glass curved screen and integrate in a way with a tasteful design language. But they didn’t.
It’s kinda like Justin Bieber sells a lot of albums. He sucks, and isn’t a good musician, but people still buy them in big numbers. The tacked on dash is the same but in a car interior. The integration sucks, but people see it and think “tech!!!”. It still sucks despite people buying into it...
You're wrong about the price. My GT Supra 3.0 (non premium) is comparable to a GT Premium, high package, with A10, PP1, and Magneride, NOT a base Mustang GT. A '23 Supra 3.0 is $54k, a new 23 GT with those above options is $57k. So, the Mustang is MORE expensive than the direct Supra...
He might have been talking about the ZL1 1LE, which is 305 front and 325 rear. SS 1LE and ZL1 is of course 285 front and 305 rear.
I'm gonna nitpick...the tire diameters are too small and do a poor job filling the fender well.
I see, IMO there's nothing wrong w/ trying something new. I'd just be forewarned that the ZL1/SS 1LE handles a lot better than the GT PP1, and the MagneRide tuning is better. In my GT PP1 with MagneRide on bumpy roads, anything other than normal mode was really bouncy - if I was in Sport or...
The A10 in my 2018 GT (premium, PP1, and MagneRide) was way behind the A10 in my ZL1. The A10 in my GT was very clunky going from P to D or D to P. Sometimes it was easily confused if you went on throttle and then off, then on again, it wouldn't know what to do and sometimes wouldn't do anything...
Curious, as I own a '21 ZL1, why are you downgrading to the GT from a '20 ZLE? Given the choice I don't think I could go less than S550 GT500 if I were to buy another Mustang. I used to own a 2018 GT premium w/A10 PP1 and MagneRide so I have first-hand experience with what you're about to...
A “few” parts shared? More like nearly everything will be shared. The S650 is going to be almost the same chassis if not entirely the same chassis, as the S550.
Ford didn't take the same strategy as GM. The 6th gen Camaro was an entirely new car: new chassis, new gen engine, new everything. Yes, it looked very similar to the 5th gen Camaros, which is what I think you're homing in on; however, it was entirely updated - nothing was shared between the 5th...
SketchMonkey's revised cars are hit or miss IMO. In this case, overall, it's a miss, but I think less black plastic on the front looks better. But I do appreciate the design approaches and information that I've learned from him.
As for the wheels - his default is to make the wheels and tires...
That photo has a very wide-angle lens, that doesn't capture or "see" around the front overhang. Notice how the wheels almost look like they're tilting toward the center of the car? The whole length of the car is squished and doesn't accurately reflect the length of the car, all which change how...
It does look pretty bland, very few character lines and holy crap, that front overhang is ridiculous looking. There's like 3 feet of plastic in front of the engine. Gross. And yes, the Mach 1 looks way better.
