They aren’t even making the MR2 like that anyways. They’re developing a new rwd platform and have made a new performance oriented 4 banger. they’re trying to go all in with the Celica, Supra, MR2 and a twin turbo v8 Lexus sports coupe (LFR)

The production MR2 being developed is riding on its own TNGA platform and is rumored to be ICE or hybrid.
