Itās lazy marketing. I agree a performance sedan would be welcome but how theyāre going about it is weird. How they select the āMachā name (Mach 4 is faster then 1 but it means doors?), how Jim Farley contradicts statements he makes all the time about it, and finally despite how easy it is to...
Could always be a possibility.
With rumors of that dealer meeting though and Farley notoriously doubling down on things after backlash, itās most likely gonna happen.
Everything thatās been leaked from that dealer meeting has came out from what we seen. Itās interesting that theyāre doubling down but Iām curious to watch those coupe sales fall further.
Weāll get another 16+ thread out of it with mental gymnastics on why everything done so far(sedan, SUV) has...
Itās crazy because I was watching his interview with motortrend about the GTD, they asked why he didnāt use āMach 2ā and he said āThe Mach name fits in a predisposed definition on what a car is supposed to be.ā Man contradicts himself all the time. š
Look like Ol Farley is making his way closer to his Ford Scion brand lol.

I have a feeling heāll get the ZR1 somehow. He does talk about it a lot.
Unless the Zora is unveiled then he might try and snag one of those after the 2 years thing is up on the GTD.
That was more of a reference to RebelManās post. Usually I can see where everyone is coming from, but that was crazy.
Most controversial topics Iāve seen on here in the past 3 months have either been about sales, EVs, whether or not a sedan should be called a Mustang, or the GTDās official...
I mean even though I donāt agree with his GTD take (I do see where heās coming from) Him being disappointed in the GTD doesnāt mean he isnāt a Mustang fan.
People say crazier/contradicting things that would make them seem less of Mustang fans. š
Everybody knows itās a crazy feat that an...
Well if itās the car in general you would be wrong, because the point of the GTD per Farley was to create a Mustang version of the GT3RS, that was before the sub 7 target. He said it was in his head for decades.
Now if you said the GT3RSās ring time, that is true, they never said they were...
Itās pretty sad. Especially reading comments on there.
You would think with the C8 going mid engine, it would leave room for the Camaroā¦. but everyone knows whenever the Camaro flies to close to the sun (Vette) it gets axed eventually.
Yeah I get where youāre coming from.
Honestly the next variant of the Mustang will be without the enhanced body, transaxle, and suspension.
Jim Farley himself made the claims about the GT3RS.

In Fordās marketing...
All I care about is they actually made a Mustang to compete against juggernauts.
Yeah the marketing came up a little short of the hype they were pushing, but maxing out a S550/650 chassis to take on the best is cool.
