I could be wrong but I donāt think you need to go into accessory mode to activate the parking brake. At least not in my overseas (Australia spec) model.

I am just a few years your junior, less than five, and have the manual dark horse. I love it, itās such an engaging drive. Perhaps not as fast on the track as the auto, but who cares at our age? I wouldnāt have it any other way.
btw I personally feel that in old age (whatever that means)...
