I would do it to reduce the chances of rodent infestation. My two other cars had rats building a nest under the engine cover, I’ve since removed them and open the hood if I’m not driving them for more than two days.

I’m partial to the Ford FE 427 R code engine. It dresses up pretty well.

My grandfather purchased a 1964 Ford Galaxie 500XL R-Code 427 4-speed new. He loved that car and kept it in a garage all the time. Other cars and trucks came and went but that Galaxie always returned to it's stable while he was alive. It was Black w/very red interior (don't remember Ford color names). I tried purchasing it from my grandparents late in their life - Didn't happen. They said it was to much car for the young man I was at that time. Truth was my uncle (their son) had dibs on that car. My uncle kept it for many years and eventually sold it. I have no idea where it is today. I can only hope it fell in good hands and has been well cared for.

Maybe you need some mousetraps under your hood.

Trust me, i did everything. Mouse trap, mouse repellant, peppermint spray, poison bait station, the whole deal. They don't work as well as popping the hood.
