I don't know if your microwave door is a good analogy. I'd say this is closer to the microwave no longer works because it is not plugged in. But anyways.. better watch out for that microwave transformer if you ever decide to open one up. They are marked with warnings because that capacitor inside will kill you. No joke.
You mean tv tubes hold charge?

Hard to find a TV with tubes these days. No Microwave capacitors will kill you and they are marked saying as much should you ever decide to open a microwave up.

It’s the door that’s been the question. Hard to see the food with that smudge in the way. 🤫 (the glass ain’t clear for a reason).

Don't knock experience. having trained and worked as a mechanic I'm pretty good at disassembling all sorts of things, figuring out how they work, and fixing them.
It's saved me thousands in replacements and/or labour costs for repairs.
I wonder how many modern kids could pull apart a microwave door, fix the broken catch and keep the bugger going for a few more years.
Now, it's usually bin it, buy another.
This isn't a mechanical experience thing. We're talking about pumping gas here. 🤣 This is all about problem solving skills, which appears to be sorely lacking. Ive known many stubborn engineers who make life harder for themselves by overthinking and not listening.

To be fair, I stick with the 2 close Mobil stations to me for the points rewards. It always works out cheaper than the discounters and they have non ethanol 98 available.
That's 93 in the US, but I do not know if anybody carries ethanol free 93 octane here. Ethanol free is usually lower octane.

Hey all.

I have refueled my new Mustang GT three times now. Two of those times it was very difficult. Even when I’m only squeezing slightly it’s still clicks off every a few seconds. I’m not sure if I’m not inserting the pump for enough, or insert to get too far, if I’m doing something else wrong.

And I’m not sure why once it worked fine.

I have been driving and refusing cars for half a century. This is the same gas station that I use for my Audi, so it’s not likely to be the pump.

What am I doing wrong?
Try inserting the nozzle upside down. I am not kidding! I had that problem on a Nissan Murano and it always worked when I did that. Glenn

Yes! The last time I refused I tried to at least hold it sideways. Upside down was difficult; the line was too tough. But sideways already helped a lot!

Question: is the station pump on the drivers side or are you extending the line across the vehicle?

Pump is on the driver’s side.

Whew, almost thought we had a fix. 😁🤔👍🏻

ya’ll got short lines there? Ours are long enough to extend to the other side but if not just right will be too short and all sorts of click and clacks can happen.

Yeah, they are short. Probably a difference in regulation between countries or provinces.

While i recognize, it’s currently in the shop, did you by chance try a gas can/container test? As in fill a container (shows pump works), use filled container to add fuel to vehicle tank. Does it flow smoothly or gurgle and burps (venting?)
