Anyone been successful resetting the tyre pressure monitoring system in the Mustang FO after replacing their tyres/wheels.

I tried following the Youtube clips (pressing brake pedal once while off then turn off/on 3 times etc) but they seem to be more for the S550.

The S550 screen goes off at once where the s650 turns off but has the orange light running around the screen when powering down.

So do I need to wait for this to power off altogether?

I have the tyre sensor remote to reset the sensors.

I have also reset the sensors in the vehicle settings, but not sure if this working on the wheels on the car.
I put 38psi in the tyres but the display shows a couple on 37 & a couple on 36psi

One idea was to put about 42psi in one tyre see if monitor reflects the increase..

Any fix for dummies be appreciated.

Thanks.

There is a reset option under settings-vehicle-tyre pressure-hold to reset

Wheels came from a Ford performance place..
I'd double-back with them to confirm what's installed, maybe having to breakdown one wheel to check.

Something that plagues many wheel swaps is the use of non-OEM sensors. Many times they work. Sometimes they don't. In the US, the sensor frequency did change from the 6G to the 7G cars. I'm not sure if frequencies changed for overseas specs.

It doesn't seem to be an issue, but the use of counterfeit or old (weak/bad batteries) sensors can cause problems. People and shops sometimes buy stock off eBay. Or they dust something off from the back and install that.

Tire shops will have interrogation scanners, to confirm a frequency is being emitted, and what that frequency is, each wheel. Someone with a tool could confirm all four wheels are working or not, and with the right frequency, in moments.

Different vehicle manufacturer systems can have different operating characteristics, but some additional thoughts on training new wheels:

- The pressures in the wheels should be what's required for the vehicle. Wheels pressured too high or too low can cause problems. Even one wheel too different from the others can cause the system to think something is wrong with the other three

- The vehicle should be at least 3m/10ft from other ones using that same frequency. For example, two Ford vehicles in the same garage, one car might not be able to distinguish its own wheels from the other when attempting to train up

- I suspect you've already tried this, but you could drive for a period of time in light to no traffic to see if the vehicle will sense the wheels and begin displaying them correctly

They seem to pick up within several miles automagically...

The procedure for the S550 works: Press brake once, turn off/on 3 times, end with on, press brake once, off/on 3 times, end with on, should honk.

If the sensors are not being recognized, it's possible the wrong sensors were installed. When the S650 first came out ford performance listed the S550 sensors as compatible... they are not, though S650 sensors work for S550. Due to this, some places still think the 2 are interchangeable.

Looks to be working now. Thanks all for your input.. I put air in the tyres & did a reset in the vehicle function in Settings.
