Cigarettes (Marlboro Lights) were 85 cents/pack when I quit. Someone else smoking in MY car?! Nope.

1984; Out with my girl friend in my 5 month old Sammie Hagar "I Can't Drive 55" red Trans Am. She was puffing away; finished the cig; rolled her window down about 3/4 of an inch and pushed the lit butt [Hey! Who doesn't like negligently caused wild fires? 🙄] out.

Except the lit cig didn't land outside, but had been sucked back into my back seat. And, who doesn't love the smell of burnt upholstery in their new car? 🤬 Last time I went out with her.
I've had this happen once or twice. Cigarette went out window then back into window then into back seat❗almost drove off rode trying to look and figure out where it went. Funny now but wow and that was when my reflexes were tip top.

I quit about 2 years ago, never felt better everything is better❗wish I did it sooner I smoked since around 21 to 48. One of the best decisions ive made for my health. Also got my girlfriend to quit. Well she did it i encouraged her.

Smoke in my cars and cancer will not kill you. I will, however.

I can’t believe people still do this in 2026. At this point it just seems like a nasty boomer thing.

No way I would smoke in any car because I don't smoke anymore. I did for many years. As an aviator the standard was "gear up, light up" and then turn off the "no smoking" signs. I still have a ashtray installed in a USAF C141 Starlifter cockpit.
This is very similar to the LLV postal truck, still has ashtrays, but good luck trying to ash in the tray and deliver the mail. I think they took all the "trays"out but theres still a few. 👍 I quit smoking before I got to USPS, but interesting to see.
