Already have H-pipe and I am wondering what is the deepest sounding without rasp. Borla S Type or the Corso sport valved. Or if anyone has another suggestion. I have active exhaust and want to keep it.

Thanks

I have Steeda x pipe with 2 small TotalFlow mini race resonators on the end of the x-pipe with the Corsa axle back and I think it sounds amazing..... I am OCD so I tried a few different configurations with my exhaust on my Dark Horse until I got it right.

Think outside the box, maybe like a flowmaster 50 series delta flow or something instead of the H pipe.

any on the shelf solution is gonna be raspy.

on mustang6g a few people ran 2-1/2” flowmaster super 44s for deeper rumble.
Just gotta do it custom, then leave your stock active to control sound/volume.

I like the sound, just want a little more
I hear you but do you want to like the sound or do you want to love the sound ... When I had the stock mufflers on with the H pipe I liked the sound as well.... but I knew it wasn't the absolute best sound for the car...... I was chasing perfection.... What sold me was corsa's clip of their exhaust on the Dark Horse....listen to it on your stereo system or put a couple earbuds in and listen to it on your phone.... Also go with the loudest muffler whether it's the Borla ATAK or the Corsa because you can always quiet it down with a couple of resonators....but if you go with the quieter muffler you can't make it louder unless you want to spend big money and add headers.....

I recommend trying an axle-back alone without an X/H-pipe.

Axle-back alone: deep rumble, zero rasp. Volume increases like 30-70% depending. Muffler delete (basically just a metal pipe as the axle-back) gives you the deepest loudest rumble but may drone.

X/H alone: adds some volume, maybe a little rasp, but not a very satisfying sound to me.

X/H + axle-back (aka full cat-back) = lots of rasp. Too tinny and metallic clangy for my taste.

I have a Roush axle-back and love the sound. I had a muffler delete before. They sound very similar, the Roush axle-back (and most other axle-backs) are basically a muffler delete pipe with an insulating muffling layer wrapped outside like a hotdog bun.

I went with a Lethal Performance resonated HH pipe and have an active Ford Performance by Borla Extreme Axleback installed. It’s louder than stock, but not obnoxious and has a fairly deep tone overall. I keep thinking I may want it a little louder, but I’m not sure it’s worth messing with at this point. It’s nice to be able to have a conversation but make some noise when opened up.

Same, Roush axle back with no H/X yet, but am thinking about it (specifically Roush H).

On S550s the deepest setup I could find was stock resonator with muffler delete. Probably be the same for S650s but if it's rasp you don't want then stay far away from X Pipes and Corsa anything.

Lol. Like you, I started with the X-Pipe and carried the torch for the X ALONE. Finally met a fellow S650 owner on my way to work and we both talked about our Ponies. He had the H-Pipe and I finally heard and experienced the difference in person. Needless to say that I immediately went and ordered the H-Pipe from Steeda and the rest is History! I love the deep rich sound of the H over the X now and I also have the Corsa Sport Axle Back setup with AE. You’ll be Happy with that.

The Flowmaster Outlaw Axleback + Steeda H-Pipe is very deep and sounds good, but; the drone is pretty excessive. The idle sounds awesome though. Problem was the mind numbing drone at highway speeds. I had that setup before the Corsa Setup w/ the double X pipe. I prefer and really like the Corsa set-up, however; the Flowmaster setup w/ H was far louder and deeper.

I run the awe catback and personally think it sounds so much better than just an h pipe did.
