Hi all - I’m thinking about procuring some Factory Reproductions GTD replica wheels to use as a “summer” set. They’re flow formed and seem to be a little lighter than the stock PP wheels, and I dig the look. My car is Shadow Black, and while I would like the Chrome/Black setup (classic), I would likely go with the Black version. I’ll also likely be going with a staggered setup, 19x11/19x10.

What says the community?
-Anyone think this is a bad idea - either the wheel in general or Factory Reproductions brand?
-Should I consider the chrome version or just go with black? I know black on black on black is overly common, but it looks mean :).

Thanks all!

These are completely awesome, however the stock front wheel for PP is 19x9.5 front and 19x10 rear will the stock tire sizes work in this situation?

Also, The grey or chrome on black would really make your car pop. not thinking the black would be YOUR best choice.

I agree with @24GTBadlands --chrome would be awesome with your black Mustang.

What are you planning on doing (if anything) about tires for the GTD wheels. Buying a set of wider tires to go with the wider wheels(I hope)? Good luck!

Thanks guys - you are certainly making the case for non-black wheels :). I really like the idea of the chrome models too, I just don’t want it to be over the top. It’s going to be a tough decision for sure!

For tires, I believe the stock wheels are 19x9 front and 19x9.5 rear (DH models get slightly wider). I replaced my summer tires with some Continental DSW06’s so I still have my stock Pirelli’s. I’m thinking of putting the stock 275/40 on the front 19x10 and then pick up a couple of 305’s or 315’s for the rear. I may just go with Pirelli’s but haven’t decided yet. Open to suggestions there also :).

If you could do something like a red pin stripe on the lip it would make it stand out. I think red compliments black very well. DH is 305 r 19 in front 315 r 19 in the rear. Let us know what you do.

That price is very attractive for flow formed wheels. Especially compared to Modern Muscle and Project 6gr. I've never heard of Factory Reproductions, though.

Edit: As for color, I like gunmetal or bronze wheels on black cars. But it's your car and everyone has preferences.

Not a bad idea. I’ll have to give that some thought. I’ve always been more “plain” when it comes to accessory schemes, but something like that could be interesting on this car.

Thanks! Yeah, I think if they had a darker gunmetal on these, I would probably go that route. I like bronze, but I don’t think I could commit. Thanks for the ideas!

Factory Reproductions has been around a while - they were big in the Challenger/Charger space with some Viper replica models they had. If I remember though, those were cast and usually heavier than stock.

I always liked the red lip on time attacks. Any of those wheels would look good on your car. The bright chrome would pop. For summer wheels these would be nice. Weather in CA is temperate so I only own one set of wheels. @blkshadow their prices are good. Hopefully you can get the sizes that you want.

Yes you are right on...I've used Factory reproductions on my old daily driver for snows. Good wheels...and they look fit perfect as an OEM knockoff.

I'd go the black/chrome combo with the all black car IMO

I’m not a big fan of black wheels; however, these modern cars don’t have much chrome/stainless trim so I buy them because the match well. If you go black, the red pinstripes make them stand out. Especially if you have red calipers or red badges/trim.

Black & chrome always look good together. Can’t go wrong with that combo. Good contrast.

Not crazy about the wheel design. They haven’t grown on me yet

Whatever you choose, if you like it every time you walk up to the car, you’ll have made the right decision. Good luck.
