Other than rubbing and scrubbing, is there something better for removing bug splatter?

I thought I did a good job washing my dark blue ember Dark Horse, and then I parked with the front toward the setting sun and saw all of these splattered bugs on the front that had not been visible when I was washing the car in the shade . . .

😕

Best thing I have found is some stuff called “Bug Slide”! Have always used on my Electra Glide for years, works great on my GT PP. Takes off most bug guts in first swipe, if it’s dried, let it soak and try again.

I would also add once you remove the bug guts off and do your next detail of your car add a sealant or spray ceramic wax so next time it will be easier to clean.

I use MAXL ONE and its worked great for me and easy to use. (I know many people don't like MAXL ONE, but its pretty good and easy to use.)

I use an Aussie product called CT18. I spray it on wheels and bug splat, leave it a few minutes and waterblast off very gently. Then I wash as per normal.

The removal of bugs is the easy part. Bug removers are mostly all the same, basically a high alkaline chemical. Always use these on a cool surface and out of the sun. If you have a wax or spray sealant (including "ceramic" sprays) on the car, then a product like this will accelerate the degradation of it. You can also get microfiber bug sponges that help the situation.

What matters most with bugs is HOW LONG it took you to remove them. If left too long, bug guts will etch into the clearcoat, paint or plastic surface, and even ceramic coatings. This is virtually impossible to remove to remove, even with heavy compounding and every chemical under the sun. It's basically a repaint situation if you've let bugs stay too long on the vehicle.

Good luck.
