This makes me think about people asking me "why do I need so much power with current speed limits" , and myself trying to explain them how a big block makes me drive much more relaxed than with tigh 2.0 turbo engines, because I can keep rpms very low with still enough torque, and having a rocket under my foot if I need it, just dropping a couple gears (Hint: Nobody understands it :D)

This said, 8,3L is crazy!!!

This was the last leg of our trip to see Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
I never thought I was buying an economy car.
That's about 27 mpg US, on our roads, on a busy holiday weekend, it's hard to believe.

4cyl turbo with an automatic, so... Yeah. Its not a sports car but an everyday errand car; just like a Honda.

Lucky that was your passengers hand holding the phone while doing 110kmh...
Funny you should mention that. Back in the days before helmet mounted bike intercoms we had to use handheld mics at way more than 110 kmh steering one handed when on a job or in a chase.

I don't do a lot of highway driving, but I caught mine averaging about 24-25mpg going 77-84mph on the interstate on the drive back home from getting my Whipple installed. The kit didn't seem to make any difference in mileage cruising on the interstate. I don't drive mine very hard (still getting the feel for the Whipple), and I'm still averaging around 17mpg overall with a few minor/moderate pulls here and there.

My 19 GT would regularly average 30 running from Cincinnati to Detroit and back. My 2025 PP car not so much, i cant seem to do better than 20mpg. I have been told the PP cars lack air flow diverters that increase gas mileage but also deflect cooling. Cooling is prioritized in the PP cars and i also thing the manual gets better mpg than the auto if you just set the cruise on the highway at about 78....

If I roll ~65 on a road trip I get just shy of 29 mpg. Usually with normal driving I see ~26mpg highway.
But my day to day is a mix of street and highway for a tank of fuel and I see ~19-20 mpg.
It's a great car.

I recently got 21 on a round trip from OC up to LA on a Sunday with the freeway mostly clear. Usually it's 17-18. Going to head out to the desert this weekend, see how it does with that. Currently have 2500 miles.
I'm now approximately 5,600 miles and still around 16.9-17.1 around town!

PS. On this trip I got tagged by radar at 100kmh in a 65kmh posted corner. Not illegal, but I would love to know what the cop thought.
He would have thought that ….

THAT ISN’T AN ECONOMY CAR!!!!

😆

Have just rolled 24k on my 2024 and have only seen 20.1 mpg but it didn’t stay long on the display!! Lol!! It must’ve figured out it had the wrong display and vanished. I get around 19-20 in city driving to and from the Plant. No hard pulls or top speed runs. Just normal acceleration and feathering the pedal to get multiple POPS!! I bet that’s where all my fuel is going!! LMBO!!

The Performance Pack also has a lower axle ratio, so you will be turning more RPMs at a given speed. It would be interesting to see a side-by-side MPG test of Mustang GTs with manual transmission, with only one of them having the PP. I would expect a difference, but not several MPG.

My 2019 PP EcoBoost gets fair mileage, but my GT averages 23.4 mpg .overall, and I had a fill up on a run from Dayton to Fredericksburg where I got 27.1. I had several times filled up with over 26 mpg

I'm surprised my mileage is still below 18 mpg. But at approximately 2,800 miles per year, I'm not losing sleep over it, anymore! I guess everything is relative. If I was still commuting 23,000 miles a year I might lose sleep over it! Glenn
