Good Evening!!

So I know in the S650 we can play music via a flash drive in either USB port according to the manual. However, everytime I plug a USB drive into either port, I get the Charge Only USB port message. I've tried multiple different drives formatted in both FAT32 and ExFat with the same results. I've combed through the manual for anything USB related and been through every screen in the settings. I do have the B&O system.

Is there some voodoo magic to get this to work?

Thanks
Craig

I have a 2024 GT convertible, with the B&O sound system.

There is only the one USB port down below the auto start on/off button, below and to the right of the start button.

I put about 100 mp3 files on a cheap 32 MB USB stick, and stuck it in that USB slot. When you start the car, you get a message that it is indexing the USB files, which takes a little while, delaying the other start up screens.

Once it is indexed, hit the sound system area to bring it up full screen, and you should see a source button. I get a message at the top saying that a USB disk is detected. One of the menu choices is USB disk, I hit that on the screen, and the music from the USB starts to play.

The steering wheel buttons work to advance the song selection forward and back, as do the volume controls.

I just used the USB stick as it came, no special formatting or settings.

Good luck.

No matter what I have tried: either USB port, small capacity drives to large capacity drives, formatted exFat, Fat32 and even tried NTFS and when I plug the drive in I get a popup that says "Charge only port".

I've gone to audio and hit the Sources button and there is no USB option. I even went back through every menu and option looking for a setting that I may have missed and nothing. The manual is pretty simple with it, plug it in and it works, only it doesn't.

you might want to take your vehicle to a dealer, this sounds like it isn't working properly. i have a 2024 MY as well and i've had no issues with using a USB drive to play audio

As others indicated, it should play the USB music. Mine works great. As for audio sources, mine comes up as PONY MUSIC vs USB.

FLAC is supposed to be high quality/lossless audio, and our Sync4 will play it.
Better than .mp3.

Sometimes these cars can't recognize devices that have too much storage. Try a smaller device (like 32Gb or less).

Im having the same issues. My car won't read anything in either port. There isnt a source option for plug-in either. I cant believe no one has been able to figure this out. It worked just fine on my S550. Does the Bluetooth need to be turned off or something?

The source will not show up if the drive isn't recognised.

MBR partitioning (or lack of it) most likely the reason

Hey just for shits n giggles, I'm using this tiny USB drive ( https://amzn.to/3NIGI3A )
and it works flawlessly in the usb port just above the wireless charger area. Might be the drive itself. But this PNY 128gb micro drive works perfect.

But it should recognize my phone, and it doesn't do that either.

Android or iPhone. Wired or wireless connection?

Do you have allow media connection in the Sync Bluetooth connections?

Mine works great on USB C but sometimes I have to select source to get it to play.
