Perhaps I'm "Old School". I have a bunch of MP3 music organized in directories by artist. The B&O system plays the files just fine. Problem is I cannot navigate to the directories! The system starts at the first directory and plays files sequentially. My 2018 WRX would allow me to navigate directories!
ANy ideas?

Sounds like new cars don’t like sticks like they used to.

Hey! The WRX also had a CD player! Now THAT'S really Old School!
I know exactly what you mean buddy :D owned one for 4 years, lovely car. Simple and practical tech.

Your best option is probably do the same thing on mobile.

I listen to my music from a USB stick where it's all separated by folders.... Works just fine.

You have a choice to sort by artist, album, etc... One of those choices is Folder (or browse i can't remember).

I tried "Browse". I'll have to look again.

How did you build the content of your USB stick?

Under browse, the very last option is called "explore device", that will give you folder lists.
Whatever you decide to play in there will loop in that folder until you pick another.

I just tried that. It worked!
Perhaps the software wasn't fully booted up before.
Now I'd like to add the album artwork for each folder. VERY minor.

That's nice to know. I have DJ mixes recorded live from when I DJ'd college parties. Nice toknow I can throw it on a USB and play it on a long road trip when my car gets delivered.

Nothing wrong with old school. I have a 2005 F-150 with a cd player and a cassette deck. But the sound from my Mustang B&O system is superior to the 4 speakers in the truck.

For me: records 78 RPM and so forth.
1/4 inch R2R tape.
Play tape.
Cassette
8-track
Digital tape.

Along the same lines, my wife drives a 2024 VW Atlas and despite all of it's high tech features wanted a CD player so she can listen to books on CD from the library.

Easy to plug a CD player into a USB port and away it goes.

There are people like my wife out there :)
