Good Lord...

No fucking way I'm spending upwards of 100k on something called "Dark Horse". It will never hold it's value and those that think it will are sniffing glue.

Shelby or Vette...
I agree,
One would be better off buying a Shelby, it would differently hold its value better -

To quote Shelby himself "If it's a good car, the name won't matter, and if it's a bad car, the name won't save it". If this ends up being a better performing mustang than any of the previous Shelby models but ends up tanking in value because it doesn't have a snake on the grille, that just means enthusiasts are idiots.

I'll stick with 50+ years of Mustang sales history before I believe anything on a forum.

"Dark Horse" is nothing and will always be nothing regardless of how the car performs in this case.

No Mustang without the Shelby name is worth upwards of 100k. None.

That's Vette territory.

Whoo, called the body color between the top and bottom grille in the original thread! (Fingers crossed that some of the DHSC's design language carries over to the refresh S650 EcoBoost/GT.)

Wow, the look got 10 times better for me just with painting that center section in the front end!

Teal accents = trash
No Manual = trash

Overall I think this will be a good car and will perform really well. I’m not a buyer however due to no manual. I’m glad it exists because Ford is still trying.

Now waiting to see what the S650 refresh looks like

“{Insert Name Here} is nothing and will always be nothing regardless of how it performs”

I’m sure people said the same thing about Shelby, the Cobra, Boss, Mach 1, etc when those nameplates started being used

I Like the car but I am disappointed on the name. I will keep my GT350R, GT500 and look for a 2013 GT500 instead.

The exhaust tips suck. Design language should always be horizontal which exhibit width, grip and stance. They should have made them a conventional circular design or horizontal like the GTD.

Those CF wheels are going to be a disaster, ask anyone that got them on a Vette .

Even Chevy dealers didn't have the equipment to mount and balance tires on them

I know my shop wouldn't touch them

Road & Track had a sneak preview of the new Dark Horse SC ahead of its reveal, during which they had a chance to ask a Ford spokesperson why this car is named Dark Horse SC and not branded a Shelby.

“This is a Ford Racing vehicle, and the reality is that Shelby doesn’t race,” a spokesperson tells R&T. “In taking what we do on the track and bringing it to the road, it is really important that we maintain that link, and show that this is a Ford Racing product.”

Hopefully that doesn’t mean all future Ford Racing Mustang products have to have the Dark Horse moniker…

So the performance will certainly be there to rival, dare I say surpass, the vaunted 2020-2022 GT500. It's really just about style and price. If you can live with the dash, the front and rear fascia, the teal and hood color accents, and the $100k+ price .... you've got a winner. That's a lot of "ifs" though.

Makes sense. Like I’ve said before, the race cars are technically “dark horses” or have the badge/branding, even the GT3 car. So for them to go all in makes sense.

I’m just glad it’s not called the Dark horse boss. 😂

Put me in the minority, but I have been extremely disappointed with this the whole generation of Mustang. The transition from the S197 to the S550 was a lightyear leap compared to this current generation. As we can see, the hype machine is mashed to full throttle trying to create excitement for something that Ford has already done before.

Still waiting patiently for Ford to come out with either a powertrain or a chassis that will demand my $$. It is very peculiar that there is very little comparisons out there between the Dark Horse and the GT350. Ford, please tell me why would I upgrade to this generation when the performance is either a dead heat or losing to a platform that came out in 2016 and costing considerably more?

Now we have this "new" car. Will there be any comparisons between Darkhorse SC to the GT500 in terms of performance to justify the premium $$?

Multimedia screens do not push the needle. It would be a better $$ proposition to purchase a top-tier used GT500 than deal with the obnoxious ADM and higher base price for something that Ford did with the S550.

However, if there is a planned variant that has a 6 speed Godzilla under the hood....
