To each their own, however with high hp cars like this people should be required to take a driving course,OK, this won't be popular.
Who needs 8 second (in reality 9's on an ordinary road) street car? Hitting 100kmh plus in the width of an intersection?
90% of drivers do not have the skill or reaction time to deal with that when it all turns to crap.
It's the same as has happened with hyper bikes, and why many people are switching to mid range bikes.
And, it will get lawmakers very twitchy and thinking about enforced power to weight limits.
Australia has already introduced special licence endorsements for drivers whose cars exceed a certain power/weight limit.
You're right about the driver training. To each their own, however with high hp cars like this people should be required to take a driving course,
I am a former professional stock car driver, amateur Skip Barber Formula Ford driver and have done more DE events than I can count.. I can handle the car.
That's why electric vehicles keep me on edge. 5-6000lbs rocketing toward you after accelerating to 60mph in 2 seconds flat in complete dead silence. Every time I'm out riding (motorcycle or bicycle), I'm like an owl on a recce mission, lol. You're right about the driver training.
But fast street driving is very different to track driving, you're surrounded by unpredictable muppets staring at their phones while driving, pedestrians walking around in a daze, etc, etc.
Just one example was Nicky Haden, one of the MotoGP "aliens", at a level very few bike riders will get close to, yet he rode his bicycle through a stop sign and was taken out by a speeding local in a car.
In enforcement driving (fast street driving) spatial awareness, anticipation and reactions are just as important, if not more so, than car handling skills.
