Can you turn the boost down below 7 lbs on a Hellion Twin Turbo kit?

do the Whipple and just use SmoothBoost to effectively turn it off while you're doing your track stuff

and honestly you could do the same with a TurboXS electronic wastegate on a centri car. Maybe save a thousand bucks and wire up a line lock or something on the BOV vacuum line?
Very interesting, robvas.

This guy (on a Camaro with a TVS 2650 blower) demonstrates it at 3.5 lbs 489 whp, 5.5 lbs 556 whp, 14.2 lbs 842 whp, and 18.5 940 whp.

3.5 lbs - 489 whp
5.5 lbs - 556 whp
14.2 lbs - 842 whp
18.5 lbs - 940 whp.

They claim in the comments that the heat is generated from boost (compressing the air) and not from blower rpm.

So I see that there may be more options than I thought.

😁

I don't know the truth, but it stands to reason that the 3.5 lbs and 5.5 lbs are going to generate a lot less heat than 14.2 lbs and 18.5 lbs.

And he is talking about IAT.

There has to be a lot less heat transferred into the oil rings, too. And the coolant. And the oil.

@Junkyard Dog, if you want to know the capabilities of the hellion kit, perhaps contacting the manufacturer will give you more accurate information than random posts/videos on the internet.

Just do bolt ons and E85 and see where that gets you at the track. Sounds like you're going for a jack of all trades master of none situation with your car.

Very interesting, just wonder how reliable it is.

There's a liability involved being that the bpv is not connected to the vacuum lines but controlled electronically instead, so product quality is very important. But this could motivate a lot of users boosting their car as its basically a "boost on demand" device. Your docile street car becomes a track beast on the turn of a knob. No need to switch pulleys. No regrets on boosting. Sounds great.

Apparently, the ring gap on our cars is very tight.

.005 top and .015 second

"For the most part it’s still a factory cooling system, straight water, reische stat, removed all the active ducting. It’s only on 7lbs on e85, and it was only 65-70 degrees when we took it out both days. So keeping it under 240 cylinder head temps wasn’t much of an issues at all. We can’t monitor oil temp yet, and wasn’t worried about them since we don’t rev this car as high as the last one.
Add in 100 degree weather and it will need some solid upgrades. Which are coming."
