I had people mess with me more, in the same town and part of the country, on highways when I had a C5 Z06. I learned that most of the morons just wanted to see me take off w/o or do a burnout if at a stop at my risk and expense considering hardly anyone gave any signs of wanting to race. Racing on a public road is something I won't be drawn into. I also don't think the average aggressive moron knows a darkhorse from a GT. Like stated above, stay in the right lanes and don't take the bait.
Maybe they don't get aggressive around my GT because of the non-threatening powder puff blue color!

I only have about 700 mi on my convertible, but I have noticed this too. I live in Georgia where there's a lot of people compensating inches by raising their trucks. I have a theory that the lift on your truck is in inverse proportion to something else. For some reason the deep growl and low profile of my convertible seems to get under the skin of these drivers.

Twice now I have been driving on a rural highway near my home, doing 63 in a 55 and have had large truck grills right on my rear end. Blowing smoke out their diesel exhaust.

The first chance they get to pass me. They think it's great fun to try to blow their smoke on my convertible while they pass. I'm good about letting it go, but this post made me realize that it has happened a few times.

By the way, I own a truck, with a reasonable level/lift on it but I've never felt like I needed to show off when I see a sports car, because it's a sports car, and I am driving my truck.

We're practically next door neighbors, and, yeah, this is definitely lifted truck country, which is sort off ironic because, with all the growth, there is nowhere near here to off road. They are commuting and getting groceries in these lifted trucks, oh, and shining their headlights right into my eyeballs at night.

Once it is broken in you are gonna have a hard time restraining yourself from smoking those mouth breathers. You are going to be very surprised when your GT wakes up at 4500 rpm!

I am in Texas. I find that nobody messes with me in my Grabber Blue GT. I had 4 Corvettes over the years and had my share of lifted pickup Red State types mess with me and of course I engaged - young and stupid. Then I got my dream car. A new Porsche 911 in 2021. The toothless morons went absolutely nuts. It was almost guaranteed that every shitbox on the road wanted F with me. I sold it because I could no longer bend my bad knees enough to get in and out. It was bucket list item that got checked off. Curiously, nobody ever hassled me in my Challenger Scat Pack 392.

You, sir, have some mighty nice toys! Re your Scat Pack; I had a 2020 Charger Scat Pack. Holy heck, it was an absolute magnet for people acting like jerks toward me. I'm an older guy, I just cruise, and I bought it to experience a Dodge Charger. Straight line fun. Anyway, I got rid of it after a year due to the garbage behavior of others every time I drove it. Now on my second Mustang since then and not nearly as bad as the Charger as far as people acting out. Weird.

Ever notice how clean the tires and under-carriage of these lifted trucks look and how they look like they've never been in the mud? They likely haven't ever been off road. They look like macho wannabe's with an $850 truck payment for 84 months. I drive through a lot of rural Ga. on the way to I-85 and family and this is what I see and wonder about. I hate regulations but headlights need to be....

Before owning the RTR, I had a 19 RS3 Roush Mustang. I like cars and enjoy working on them and driving. One experience on first warm day couple years back, just cruising and noticed someone coming up zig/zag through traffic. Pulls up next to me and it's a new Vette. I'm doing my best to ignore and then just flat wave him off and slow down. Not to be deterred, so Mr. Vette slows down and continues. Finally, I just give him the thumbs up, and we jump at a roll.....I'm in 2nd gear roll out to redline and bang 3rd as I smoke by him. Coast back down to a stop light and he pulls up next to me completely ignoring me. Finally get his attention and asked him if he wanted to try that again, would it be any different? I enjoyed saying that --- light changed green and nice leisure pull out. Funny thing is the Vette driver looked like he was older than me LOL. Probably the only time I ever pushed the Roush hard. Very fast on a roll.......that said, the RTR is much faster.

I was just thinking about a time 20 years ago that I was in Arkansas on business. I was amazed at the number of ramshackle houses and falling down single wides with shiny new monster trucks in the red dirt driveways.

Same experience in Allentown area. Driving in the Northeast is not for the faint of heart. Left lane riders, tailgating and Trucks driving like it's the Daytona 500. Also, every kid with a fart Can muffler who wants to race. I just ignore them and let them pass.
Hadelson,
Hi neighbor! I live in Bethlehem Twp. Not that far from you. I agree that one of the biggest issues we face is the people who were born with the God-given right to live in the left lane. It drives me crazy. I had a friend I used to ski with and spent many hours driving with. Sometimes 4-5 hours one way. He would never get out of the left lane. His excuse was that he was driving the speed limit. I finally stopped skiing with him. Glenn

Here in Georgia that is illegal, not that anyone knows the law.... If you are in the left lane and a car is approaching from behind, you are legally required to move over regardless of either vehicles speed, unless you are passing a vehicle to the right of you. The actually have digital signs that sometimes read "Georgia State Parks are great for camping, the left lane is for passing only".

Merry Christmas. You would know the road. 222 in Trexlertown. When still working, did not enjoy my rides up 22 to Bethlehem.

Yep. The Georgia State Patrol was very aggressive about enforcing it when the law first passed (well, it was always there, but the legislature removed the part about the speed limit). Lots of folks were howling with indignation online about getting a ticket for "not speeding fast enough." LOL. Some folks are just too stupid to be on the road with the rest of us.

The law has, however, reduced the number of folks who just cruise in the left lane and do not move over when a faster car approaches from behind. I can actually tell a difference when I cross state lines and more drivers are just camping in the left lane. There are still some in Georgia (idiots), but not as many as in surrounding states.
