Starting another elongated economy thread, I've just travelled up to Auckland to renew my passport, 500 kms return. I can't believe I averaged 10.1L per 100kms. That's 23.2 miles per every one of those tiny gallons you guys have in the US:). The best numbers yet.
This was not economy driving, sitting on 110 - 120kmh, half was rural backroads with a fair bit of hard acceleration to pass all the snails that were out, and half 4 lane expressway.
My supercharged MX5 struggled to do that.
Love this car.

Just drove Gold Coast to Middlemount, on Australian 98, 9hrs 40min, 95% of time with cruise control on in 6th at GPS 104kph (or 108 on the dash) - driving the inland way not coast way so very little traffic and clocked in at 9.3L/100km - that is the same as my 4cyl Turbo diesel Prado.

Overtaking trucks and caravans is so much easier in this beast in 3rd gear, and noise is purifying for the soul.

Last time I topped up before heading into nowhere with 98 fuel available, it come up saying 582km to empty - for context week before a full tank was only 311km to empty:cwl: (or about 18L/100km)

Wishing the week away so I can get back in and drive back home

I got 26.1 on half mountain twisties and half interstate for 400 miles last weekend without trying for any number. None of it was at speed limits.

My most recent road trip, to Virginia International Raceway, I got 23 MPG driving on both interstates and country roads. On track, the thirsty beast got 7.5 MPG.

WORTH IT.
Isnt it what....but so much fun - Fill the tank up before going on track - 70km on track equals 40L to drive back home :sunglasses::fistbump::rockon:

I drive pretty easily in my Dark Horse, but the average on the dashboard tends to stay around 17 something mpg.

On the interstate I mostly drive at 82-83 mph.

In one Track Day I burned through two full tanks of gasoline and had to add gas again to ensure I could make it to a gas station outside the track . . .

My trip out of state this week - I reset my mileage once on the interstate with cruise control and left it for the remainder of the trip until home, which included a little bit of city driving, but mostly interstate. 19.5 mpg.
