"As America’s largest auto producer, we appreciate President Trump’s leadership in aligning fuel economy standards with market realities," Ford CEO Jim Farley said ahead of the announcement. "We can make real progress on carbon emissions and energy efficiency while still giving customers choice and affordability. This is a win for customers and common sense."

There is a place for electric vehicles such as the eMustang, even though attaching the name of a pony car wasn't a good idea in my opinion. The largest issue with respect to EVs is the requisite infrastructure to support them. The $109B touted savings pales in comparison to the estimated $10 trillion to up grade the power grid to provide enough power for EVs. Evidence is already with us when the number and length of brown outs in California are taken into account. Thankfully, there are still untold thousands to filling stations!

Remember this is a US problem caused by failure to invest in infrastructure (hence cheap electricity) - Not all countries are like this.

AGREE!!!!! ...... and as my European friends tell me, power outages, skyrocketing electrical bills, looong waits at charging stations and now a looming power crisis pitting AI needs against EV needs is has arrived. Thank God I live in North America with wide open roads and fast cars!!!!!!!!! and God Bless Lee Zeldin, Scott Bessant ,Trump and other American Republican cabinet members with enough foresight to see through the moronic green scam......BTW I believe I said this was coming in a thread on this forum over a year ago. The election would save our Mustangs and likely the free world. I live in Canada and the moron who recently got elected Prime Minister has already "seen the light" and is now talking pipe lines, nuclear, LNG and enhanced gas exploration. His former green minister, a former a-hole Greenpeace activist, just quit. Hooray. God Bless the sane leadership of the USA and God Bless American-made muscle cars, particularly our Mustangs. If you don't like that move to Europe. I lived there for four years with their de-tuned cars, insane rules and regulations, failing social systems, class warfare - no wonder they are collapsing into a third world garbage pit.....yeah that's really how i feel! way to go Jim Farley and Ford!!!!!

@MAT1955 Not trying to go after you , but you need to use the qoute/reply feature by adding your comment above or below the comment you are replying to. Not incorporate your ideas into someone else's qoute. It gets way confusing and puts words into other people's mouths. 😉

Air pollution, destruction of the environment as a result of everything associated with getting a finite resource to the pump for us to consume. E15/E85 our current alternative is in some ways worse than traditional fossil fuels, Not just from an emissions standpoint but also from a food cost perspective, as you're literally burning food and devoting fields to produce a single crop.

Then there's less of a push for manufacturers to make efficient (read: fast) vehicles.

but you know, climate change is a hoax, once in a century storms happening every few years is the norm, We've always had massive hurricanes and severe weather and insurance costs were going to go up anyway, it's not at all related to changes in weather. Probably just a liberal plot. Just like Zillow removing data about how likely a home is to be affected by severe weather because it was impacting sales.

Plants use CO2, more is better. Only an idiot would argue against it.

declines in violent crime rates be damned, let's bring back leaded gas!
