I am reluctant to take my Dark Horse in for the recall because of things just like this. The car is garage kept and has never seen any water. I had it ceramic coated when I got it and only use the spray cleaner that was recommended by the installer....I think I will take my chances...

I have a DH too, I'm doing the same... It never sees rain.

I am hesitant to allow them to do the recall because they need to take out the window for it. I'll just do my own check while it's in hibernation to see if the BCM is getting wet, which I doubt it is...

I'm with you guys there... also garage kept and no rain. 9 times out of 10 my dealer visits go well, no issues... I just can't take the chance of the 1 in 10 with the Mustang! I will do the test procedure listed for the recall myself and go from there.

I'm not taking mine in when you can just check the BCM by removing the glove box (2 minute job) and check for water intrusion. I live in the Northwest where it rains everyday and my car sits outide at work. I check it once a month and not a drop of water anywhere.

I got the same recall on my 24GT. The problem is that you can't sell or trade with an open recall. My car is in winter storage right now but when it comes out in the spring I will get it done to protect myself in the future.

When I took the car in for the other recall( rear knuckle assemblies), they originally told me my car was affected and replace the parts. After they got done, the tech realized my car WASNT affected, and then went and took the replaced parts out, and put the old parts back in...They ended up having my car for almost 2 weeks and basically only accomplished an oil change...So I don't necessarily have have the most faith in the dealership...

I think they may have gotten a bit aggressive with the caulk and it is keeping it from seating completely.

Not going back to the dealer. I'll fix it myself if it bothers me too much. It's just cosmetic anyway.

I doubt its too much caulk imo...I'd be in the camp not reinstalled correctly or broken....My OCD would compel me to return it and at least get an explanation.....Get a picture of how it should be and let them explain it to you. I'd be a little afraid there would be wind noise or worse at high speeds...

Your car so good luck either way....Its so sad dealer service is so poor now.
