when I have the H pipe installed on my car, the welder damaged the center armrest pad (faux leather). So I ended up purchasing a new arm cover,(redline).

Removing the armrest lid doesn’t seem as obvious as I thought it would be. Has anyone here done this or have a video referencing the removal of the center console lid and pad.

thanks (again)
Tom

Not sure but you may need to remove the center console to reach the mounting hardware for the cover. I don't remember exactly. I don't believe the rear area is removable by itself been a while since I took mine out.

Dude is the welder your buddy ? Cause if not I would be pissed, we'll let me correct myself, I would be pissed no matter who did it. Maybe go back to this shop and have a chat. That is unacceptable. This person actually broke the armrest? Sorry that happened to you.

He sure isn’t. the OEM Ford flux leather pad is $380. I bought a leather cover to replace it from redline.

Man...that sucks. if you went to an independent shop maybe you are SOL, but if the guy has a boss or it's a larger shop, you should have been able to get some compensation for the damage.

Or did you just say screw it and cut your losses? If so...I get it.

owner operator, I just cut my losses. People just don’t respect other people’s things anymore. If the car was dirty and there was trash everywhere inside maybe I could see where he might get the impression that it wasn’t well cared for. the car had like 600 miles on it at the time and freshly detailed. Life moves on. We just bought a new arm rest cover.

I get it....you're not going to get much recourse from a one man shop. Either he is ignorant or just some passive/aggressive shit going on. You really have to go out of your way to screw up an interior that bad.

That's why I will always go to chain shops so I actually have someone to complain to if things get ruined.
