FYI - This seems like a nasty one. Pretty much all our vehicles will be affected. Its also affecting many people that were about to take delivery of new cars which have been on hold for the last few weeks. Over 7000 in total.

Strange when I enter my VIN on the Ford website (https://www.ford.com.au/support/recalls-details/) , there are no outstanding recalls listed for my VIN, but my VIN is on the list at vehiclerecalls.gov.au.

See here what the repair process is like: https://www.mustang7g.com/forums/threads/bcm-recall-photo-of-one-being-fixed.171620/

recall information
Recall number REC-006439
Campaign number 25C43
Original published date 23 September 2025
make and model information
Make Ford
Model Mustang
Year range 2022 - 2025

What are the defects?
Due to a manufacturing defect, the Body Control Module (BCM) may be susceptible to water ingress. As a result, the front and rear side marker lamps, taillamps, and license plate lamps may not operate as intended.

What are the hazards?
Lighting features not operating as intended may reduce the driver’s visibility. Additionally, other road users may be unable to identify the vehicle in dark conditions increasing the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.

What should consumers do?
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Ford Motor Company Australia asking them to schedule an appointment with their local dealership to have the work carried out, free of charge.

Mine's the same - nothing on the Fordpass app, or the Ford website, but it is on the vehiclerecalls VIN list.
Has anyone in Oz had this done yet, or talked to their dealer about getting it done?

From what I could gather from some people posting on Facebook, Ford is sorting new cars awaiting delivery first. So we will probably be notified soon. Looking at what they are actually doing, I cant say I like the repair. Looks nasty. The replaced/extra seam sealer patch area will at least be behind covers and things, but its going to drive my OCD crazy by knowing its there.

On a separate subject - got year service done - and it sounds like they dropped a bolt or socket into a recess on the LH Front side of car, can hear if going down hill or turning left

Same mine is on the VIN list but no official notificatiom from Ford yet...I'm hoping the VIN list is wrong and our cars are spared the recall :)

I'm on the CSV list, but not (yet) flagged of the Ford Aust recalls and service action list. :curse:

Whomever put the recall notice together obviously didn't "Australianize" it.
(Deliberately with a "z"!)

We don't have side marker lamps.

I've only been caught out in the rain once, and only washed when needed.

And if we have 7k+ of them in Australia, I don't know where they're all hiding.
Still hardly see any others when out casually driving.

S650 Mustang Australia - 25C43 S650 recall (Water Ingress/BCM damage) VIN-Decoder-R1

I'm assuming VIN beginning with 1FAR must be S550s, and there's 528 of them.
But they have a 2024 model year?
(Digit 10 "R" = 2024)

Anyone?

Moving on to already known variants....
1FATP8E = Darkhorse, 1,000 listed
1FATP8L = EcoBoost, 770 listed
1FATP8N = GT Fastback, 4,924 listed
1FATP8P = GT Convertible, none listed

I guess you have the risk of water intrusion with a convertible anyway. :giggle:

Is that from checking with Ford Australia or doing a search within the CSV list?

1,000 DH bought into Australia.
1,000 DH VINs listed.

Based on my own experience with 24C35, I'd expect Ford Aust will take months to get their act together and officially notify affected owners whilst they're working on a recall action roll-out.

Ford letter will say: For the latest information, contact your dealer.
Dealer will say: Wait for the letters from Ford.

:computerrage:

I just called my local dealer to book it in for its 12month service, and asked if their system showed the recall on my car, and yes it does 🤷‍♂️

They did say they have the fix for it and will do it while it is in for the service.

I just called my local Sydney dealership, as next week I have to bring in my 2024 GT for a recall on the software.
I mentioned this new water ingress recall, they said my car is on the list of affected cars but at today they don't have indications from Ford on how to fix it.

The repair look a bit nasty appearance wise. Feels like I got a lucky break.

Saw this posted on Facebook.. Looks like people waiting on new cars will get theirs fixed in December. Most probably that means we will get our recall notices Dec/Jan as well.
