Looking at doing my Whipple Stage 2 install in the next couple of weeks. A few people I have been talking to are recommending going with LTH's and cats. I definitely will probably do cats. My question is around recommedation. Kooks, ARH, Stainless Works, and LTH. I am doing the Boundary Gears, KPM1000, ID1050-XDS, and UPR Catch cans. This is Manual DH so probably won't be doing much Drag Strip, but definitely a little road courses and some hard driving. I will also be doing a tune probably both E85 and 93.

Thanks

Stop talking to those people then, and don’t even bother with LTs if you’re gonna go with cats… aftermarket break and clog as much or more as OEM.

beautiful car btw đź‘€
I’m sure they believe their advice is coming from a sincere place but… no.

I did the whipple stage 2 and kooks long tubes with no cats. I also installed the UPR catch cans long ago, with the upgraded check valve.

I did kooks catless headers with awe switch path exhaust. Feel free to check out my video if you want to hear how it sounds and install!

Do you feel like it’s too loud? When you put into quiet mode how is it? How’s the drone?

I replaced my resonator with the jones maxflow dual 3” muffler, here’s a cold start, my car is quieter than stock now, unless I go to sport or track mode

It’s very quiet in quiet mode. And it’s a lot deeper than a lot of mustangs I’ve heard with headers. I personally think it’s the best setup.

Are you in Illinois from what I’m seeing? I’m over there a lot maybe I can take a listen.

I’m going to buy and install the whipple over the winter. Is there any detriment to long tubes without the cats? I mean service engine light, something like that? I don’t want any issues but feel like the headers would be a benefit with the supercharger. I don’t think state inspection is any issue for me. They barely check the lights let alone anything like cats especially on a car this new. Just like to know thoughts/experiences with no converters.

We run KOOKS on ours and they have been good. I have used LTH Exhaust headers in the past and swear by them for fitment and with collector design and location, it can deeper the tone a little. With the cats, as long as you go with the GREEN from Kooks or the EcoF from LTH, you will be fine. The regular cats cannot withstand the extra heat. The others are more boost friendly. Not indestructible but can take more abuse.

We offer all the header brands so if you do go that route, let us know. Same with the catbacks.

I am using the Lethal Performance 90 degree spacers for the O2 sensors. They have effectively prevented a check engine light so far.

I don’t want it to smell like a 69 Mach 1 with a 292 magnum. 💭
Probably better stick with the OE exhaust. I already installed a H-pipe so that might have to do.
