It's to make the front end look cool.
That's it.

For pedestrian notification... so they know they are getting hit by a car and not a motorcycle, as only one headlight is visible when looking from one side or the other.

Pedestrian notification? I have 2 large LED headlights. If they don't see those they should not walk the streets. Just saying.
It may indeed be a require for other markets.

It's to meet federal requirements to make the car "viewable" by pedestrians as I recall from the side i.e. they see the lights because the other lights on the front can't be seen.

Yeah, not sure where the requirement comes from, but apparently as the headlights can only be seen one at a time when standing off to the side, someplace requires the other "headlight" to be visible at a certain angle or some such hooey.

I went out and checked. They work with the turn signals. They blink opposite them.
So it must be for pets to see if we are turning. I have a 2025 Hyundai and they dont have anything like this. Mystery to me.
Thanks for the imputs except maybe to make the car look cool.

I googled it for you and found a link from this forum with an apparently long winded video… pedestrian safety.

They alternate with turn indicators. So it may indeed be for warning.
