I’ve been running probably closer to e20.
I only get e70 at a Thortons, then Shell 93 e10 across the street .
I’ve only done 3.5 gallons
Car feels stronger for sure!
I may try a higher percentage next.
It’s difficult to get mix right when you start refueling though

Fill your can to make your mix, mixing at the pump is for mid-grade.

The e85cal app can account for current blend so you aren’t inching up the e content at every fill up.
Thanks ZX, I’ve been playing with that too.

This doesn’t make sense… I don’t have a massive gas can… lol
I like the calculator

Mid-grade fuel is mixed at the pump, they don’t have a separate tank, it is a mix of premium and regular, hence the same impact when attempting to use the pump method to mix your blend.

I dont understand.
Thortons had e85 that I have tested many times over the years at 70%
then I go to Shell and get their best gas at 93.

You are attempting to blend a mix but using a manual method as opposed to an automated measured method.

when the mix is blended at the pump the pump regulates the mix using ‘known’ attributes. When mixing by hand an unknown variety of ingredients can be verified in order to ensure the desired rating. I got the impression you suggested obtaining the proper mix was difficult.

The biggest issue with running something like E30 in this car is the lack of an ethanol sensor, mainly because they’re like $500. So I’m pretty much guessing what I’m at. I accounted for 75% ethanol coming out of the pump, because I’m in New York and the minimum is 70, so I feel it’s a fair medium.

It’s difficult for me to calculate when I’m filling up from 1/4 tank after already mixing . I think that’s when inaccurate content starts happening.
I’ve been doing a full tank of 93 every other to reset as I’m scared to over E… lol
I’ll be getting a Flex tune in a few months when it’s perfected

That app mentioned may help but exact measurements are always difficult to ensure.

A tip that worked for me is, I pull up to the pump… and put the car in track mode… it changes to a percentage. So if I’m at say 30% till empty, I calculate 70% of 14.2 … so I need 9.9 gallons and then I use the E85/E30 calculator app.

It is a lot to explain but only takes a few seconds and works excellent

Thanks for the advice. I didn’t know track mode did that.

What changes to a percentage? The fuel gauge?
