When I bought the SC from Steeda they asked me if I wanted a Ford/Whipple or a Whipple version. The hardware is same except for Ford logos, the Ford/Whipple software has a speed limiter and the Whipple software does not. Wasn’t a big deal to me for real world driving, didn’t consider the Dyno thing until I put car on dyno and couldn’t figure out why it was cutting out at 7k rpm. Didn’t dawn on me until I saw the leaderboard, the dyno sheet doesn’t list wheel speed. Pic of leaderboard is hard to see(full sun) but if you zoom in a bit my cars at the top.

So the Whipple tune cut it off at that rpm?
To be clear the Whipple tune still revs out 7,400-ish rpm if I remember correctly, don’t think any different than stock. It was the wheel speed in 5th gear that cut the party short but I wasn’t looking at speedo when on the dyno. Never crossed my mind, after 3 pulls I gave up. The tech running dyno was convinced I was chicken footing it but had pedal planted firmly on floor even after it limited out. It wasn’t until I had car back off the dyno and was looking at leaderboard that had the wheel speed data what had actually happened. Figure I got robbed of a few HP on paper anyways.

Ford is responsible for the speed limiter. F/P and Whipple stage 1 do not _remove_ the speed limiter. Whipple stage 2 does remove the speed limiter - or push it to beyond the max possible speed the car could reach, they weren’t specific on that point.

Looks like Stage 2 is in my near future! I don’t need to go that fast in real life, but nice knowing I could

ok, but that is not what their purchase disclaimer says and also not what they told me when I asked. Not saying you’re incorrect, just that it’s different from what they fessed up to.

yeah the phone/email reps usually dont know what they are talking about saddly.

but yeah real world experience here whipple stage 1 lowers DH top speed to 140

if you send over that email to me thats says that i will try to get them to unlock my speed lol
but i have low hopes of that.
i hp tuners any way just a waiting game till they find all of the limiters.

can’t you just upgrade to stage 2? it shouldn’t be that expensive. T/B and the tuner programming, right?

got it to keep the warranty

really does not make scene to upgrade value wise as from the start stage 1 with warranty vs stage 2 are the same price
without the warranty its $500 cheaper

once hp tuners finds all the limiters i will be removing them that will only cost me $200 in credits plus i will make all the modes i use shift like drag mode

Wow. I did not realize the stage 1-2 upgrade was that much coin.
