Got my rtd4 guess what issue i ran right into? Yup the can't read car issue. seems hp jumped the gun on this release or the tuners are not being honest about how well it works and being shady. I would just hold off untill they get it fixed or just stop selling broken devices.

Did you update it to newest firmware before trying to read?

yup followed the instructions to a T everything is updated, still no read.
Yeah, that’s some bullshit alright!
Really sucks to use customers as test monkeys.
Hope you get it figured out Monday

Or you're only reading the posts you want. HP specifically jumped the gun to have theirs out before SCT, and a lot of tuners including PBD in their videos say how they've been having issues with the software.

file a ticket with HP Tuners, hopefully they can get you looked after sooner than later. At least with the product being so new its getting a ton of development effort, so if its broken now, it'll probably be fixed in the short term.

also also also also, maybe your RTD4 is bugged out / inoperative and needs to be replaced.

I did, and ive been going over all the different sites good and bad, for and against, and troubleshooting issues and known problems and videos. I am thinking the rtd is bugged/damaged its not connecting to some Bt devices and it will kind of with others. Tried my bt test kit and same results may be just an incompatible chip never heard of kpt who is the manufacturer of the device i have and for such an expensive devices thats bs if its using a junk chip. Incompatability with wireless chips does happen more frequently than most know.

Wired also does not connect with the pc software or it cant even see the car tried multiple known good cables. Hp did release way early to beat SCT and they either deliberately didn't release when they said they would and they were punking on HP to see what happens or they decided to hold off and let it bake longer. The current sucess rate for tunes is around 30% for a one and done tune no issues with read or upload. Posting my not so good experience so others will see its not quite there yet. I was working with P1 tuning lastnight untill around 8pm huge shout out to them for having outstanding customer support. We are going to try the new beta today. Its people trying and failing that will work out the issues if we don't it won't get smoother. Just letting everyone know what could be the experience.

Does raising the shift point do anything? Is anybody making drag strip runs prior to tuning, then tuning and making drag strip runs to see if there is consistent improvement of some sort?

I am just wondering what benefit there is to spinning an engine higher when it is already well over 7000 rpm just as it comes from the factory.

more power and coyotes like revs. speed limiter is currently the only thing really holding things back.

Update on the tuning situation hp is working on a fix seems to be some kind of link issue as far as i can tell on the back end. Just waiting on the fix to be in and resync will hopefully fix it.

I second the notion that there's still plenty to do, even on a stock car. For one thing taking command over the basis: MAF calibration; SD calibration; understanding when, where, and how torque limiters come into play; and advancing timing are all super, super key. Getting control over these on stock is safer, and helps prepare for bolt-on power-adders as they arrive.

I had luck over the weekend dialing my MAF banks in, with good results in the log. Also have found where rev and speed limiters are (and can be removed), along with a few other goodies. Information is spread out all over the place though, and in some cases, deliberately withheld...

Keeping running logs though here and on other forums, as well as my YT channel.

But yeah... There's always reasons to tune, even stock cars!

I really wish I didn't have to give up my warranty to get rid of the throttle lag when switching from brake to gas.
