Ugh, happens all the time in Georgia. right next door to NC. 😡
Yeah, we sometimes forget how big this earth is and that police are not the same in every city, county, state, country, continent..

That's really bad. You have to be doing something really wrong to ever get pulled over in NC. Hell, I had an old trailer, no plate, no tail lights the other day and I thought for sure the trooper was going to get me. He was behind me for 10 minutes while we went down the same road. Nope. Every states different, I always thought GA was more anarchic than anything. I swear the second I hit the GA border on 95, everyones DOING 95 MPH.

Thanks guys for all the pictures. I had to compare all your pictures to see what fits best. I chose the 5% ceramic tint and I'm very happy. I still can see through the rear window easily. Still have to check how that is in night time, but won't be too bad I guess. I also did the side triangles and the car looks stunning.

Even the front looks darker now, because I tinted the rear. So that's a good side effect.

I'm going to tint my windows, but before doing so, I want to know how much % light our windows let through from the factory.

In my country, I'm not allowed to tint the windshield and the front side windows totally dark. Only the rear and the rear side windows can be blacked out.

The front and side windows should at least allow 55% of light through.

This means I can use a 45% tint and to be on the safe side I can only use 35% tint, but this math only works if the windows are not tinted from the factory.

Most windows already come a little bit tinted, and I don't know how much that is on our Mustang.

Any body has an idea?

I think here in Colorado the law is 30%?
I believe I have 30% on the Two front & rear windows.
I’ve never had the Front Window tinted on any of my vehicles 🚗.
I know people who have.
It just seems too dark at night.

I was thinking going with a near clear tint on the windshield and sides simply for heat but am on the fence.

I still might go with a super light ceramic tint on the windshield for heat.

I did the latest clear with the highest heat rejection. I have it on my 2011 glass roof and works well. I had it on another car but as you know in AZ windshields don't last long. As long as my AC is working fine and I use the inside sunshade when parked it saves money not having it redone with windshield replacements.

Got 20% ceramic installed on sides and back. First non-black car in a long while, but the difference was noticeable the second I left the shop. AC fan was on low for once lol. Next to get rid of these ugly wheels.

Granite graval is used extensively on areas around the expressways. They do this to keep dust down as grass would require too much water. Stones get kicked up as wind and rain cause some to end up on the roads. You can get a stone from a car that may be way ahead or one right in front. I had one car that had over 5 windshields replaced with one that was only a few days new. I always get PPF on the front clip and have full glass with zero deductible.

What does this typically cost, and how do you go about finding somebody competent to do it?

Do you do the area of the rear fender that sticks out in front of the rear tires, too? It looks like this area will take rocks from the front tires, since it is the widest part of the body. I know Porsche 911 cars have a rear fender that sticks out like that, and they sometimes look like they have been shot with birdshot after a few years.

It depends on how much you cover with PPF.

There are front only PPF kits that run a few hundred bucks. Those cover the front of the car up to about a 1/3rd of the hood and usually the side mirrors. Rock guard peices can be added to the lower rear fenders in front of the rear tires separately for a few bucks more. That is a high impact area if you have wide tires.

Many people opt for the front clip coverage. Which is the whole front end, including the entire hood and front fenders. This is nice because there are no lines and obviously you get the whole hood protected. This will run you about $1500.

Then there is full body PPF coverage for the diehards with deep pockets. That covers the entire car and cost a few thousand.

Protecting the lower area behind the rear wheels can easily be accomplished with mud flaps or the Dark Horse mud guard trim.

It's important to understand that prior to installing PPF, a good polish is to the paint surface is recommended. Otherwise any imperfections will be permanently kept under the PPF.

Also, the newer PPF is self healing with heat. Meaning minor scratches and scuffs can be repaired without replacement.

Hope that helps. 👍🏻
