I was curious if anyone here had a nonperformance GT and added the auxiliary transmission cooler that the performance package has. I am looking to do this but wondering how big of a pain it would be to run and mount everything. I plan on doing the MMR oil cooler also. Living in Florida I want everything to run as cool as I can.

The short answer is no, I haven’t, since I have the PP, but based on the location of the factory trans cooler, you’d probably be better off going with an aftermarket cooler. It would be really difficult to mount it in the factory location.

I haven’t been able to find any specific kits made for it. That’s why I was thinking maybe I would just be able to order the additional parts from ford and install it. There just isn’t much information on anyone doing it.

It’s in between the radiator and condenser, so I imagine it would be tough to get it mounted in the factory location. Plus, I’m assuming you would have to swap the radiator over to the PP version for it to fit, but I don’t know that for certain.

Ok I see what you are saying. Wasn’t expecting to be that close. I think when I plan on doing it I will try it and also get a new radiator. It’s already in my plans to change the radiator anyways. Appreciate the help.

I think it wouldn’t be too big of a task to add an aftermarket cooler, just not sure the oem would be worth the hassle.

I agree. I was going to put an aftermarket radiator in but for the aux trans cooler I think I would have to get dimensions and how it mounts and see what I can find. I might even do the mishimoto pan also.

I am going to put a twin turbo on it next year and this year I am getting all the supporting mods and hoping by then will be able to tune. Just bought all the suspension today and next is all the cooling and then drivetrain after that and whatever else I realize I need on the way.

I've been planning to add the trans cooler as well recently, I just ordered the cooler and mounting bolt only to check fitment, I did check the area between my radiator and AC condenser and I did see mount locations for one, I think there is just enough space there to put the mounting bolt on, I made a thread talking about this as well as a doc including most of the part numbers and digrams I was able to find. Doc Here
