Hi everyone, I've got a question that I haven't been able to find an answer to no matter what terms I search. Maybe I'm using the wrong language, but I'm hoping you can offer some insight.

When you get into your Mustang, there's typically a little drumbeat-type sound... do-do-do-do...do-do-do-do.

When I sat in my Mustang at the dealership upon pick up, it made that sound. But it's stopped making that sound entirely. I'm just wondering what triggers this? Is there a way to turn it on? I've hunted through all the settings and can't find anything.

I might be the odd one out here, but I really like the sound, haha. I want to hear it. But nothing I do seems to change whether it plays or not. For example, I heard that it plays if you don't plug in your seat belt... but whether I do or don't, nothing changes.

I'm still not sure if I'm describing this well enough, but if you know what I'm talking about, any advice would be great. Thanks!

Mine has completely disappeared as well. Does the factory amplifier have anything to do with the galloping sound? I mention this, because I have bypassed the factory amp an added an aftermarket amplifier. And mine stopped following the bypass of the OEM amp.
And I like to sound, too.

My bongo chime disappeared as well. Now I get a ding-dong chime sound which is irritating.

If my car decides to revert back to the regular Ford ding-ding-ding I will drive it off a cliff.

My Bongos are back !
I didn't do anything different but they just returned by themselves.
I am happy again ! They kinda grew on me :)

My Ranger doesn't dum-de-dum, and neither does my neighbor's brand-new Explorer ST.

If you record the sound, put it in any MP3 file program, and speed it up, the sound you get is a duplicate of an old TV oater like Hopalong Cassidy! I can't imagine an Explorer or Escape with this exact sound!

I thought the chime was tied to starting the car with either the door open or the seat belt not buckled.
I'll try that. But I'm sure that in the past (like when I test-drove the car, or when I rented one in Hawaii last year) the do-do-do-do chime would always play whenever I sat in the car (before starting the engine). So I'm really confused why it doesn't always play now. Unless Ford has done an over-the-air update in the last few months to specifically change when it triggers? That seems the most plausible explanation, but if so, it makes me a little sad. I want it to play every time I get in the car. :p

The sound is associated with a warning - probably door open or seatbelt off. It would be pointless just bonging away for no reason
