The center screen blanks out when I use Google maps about 30% of the time only on the right part of the screen. Does anyone else have similar issues with CarPlay?

i also noticed that symbols still showing so the screen is not completely out on the right side. When I switch in the same session to other apps like Apple Maps or main menu the center screen looks fine.

Now I just reset the screen by holding a few seconds the forward button and volume down on the steering wheel. I found out in this helpful forum of Mustang enthusiasts that Ford is aware of CarPlay issues and they are working on a update this coming winter of 2024.

See below the issue with Google Maps on first photo and how menu and Apple Maps work fine.

Yes, I had this issue with Android Auto two days ago. It had since cleared up. But I do have a question about resetting the screen. I saw somewhere on this forum to hold the fast forward (on steering wheel) & radio power off button for 10 seconds but that didn't work.

But I saw this and I believe I tried this before but it didn't work but I will try again this afternoon. Does the screen need to be giving you problems at that time when you are trying to reset?

I figure as a recovering NoVA resident I should offer this first before anyone suggests “just use something else"

NoVA traffic is bad. If you live in Texas and think Houston traffic is bad, try living in the DC suburbs. I give it no more than 3 months before you flee in terror. It spans in about a 35 mile radius around DC, which is a lot of territory in MD & VA. When I first got something with embedded navigation, I would use it to let the traffic feature find me new routes even when I knew exactly where I was going.

So it’s a huge time saver if you find a navigation option that is on top of incidents that might slow you down

No, you can do that at any time.

Yes I am sending my VIN with a private message. Here are two more photos showing the Google Maps issue with full screen and split screen. I am not sure if anyone else has exactly the same issue with Google maps.

Note that location cursor is exactly in middle of visible map in both cases. This appears to be Sync software related issue and not hardware like the screen.

My google maps just goes black maybe 10% of the time on my Android Auto. All sorts of bugs going on with CP and AA. I also notice on the home screen it's not showing what song is playing on the right side like it used to. Now it just shows my phone name and nothing else. Very glitchy system.

Oh and also Waze just disappeared from my apps on the center screen. No idea why.

Thanks but I'll just wait for the next update. Hopefully that will take care of it. Seems like some common issues owners are experiencing with AA/CP.

I wanted to give a quick update on this. I am now convinced the issue is on the car side and not on the phone side.

I connected a different iPhone and my Ford Mustang Center screen shows the same issue of partial black screen on CarPlay Google Maps.
