Just got my '24 GT. The auto Rev matching is really something.

My daily driver is an 04 Ion with a 5 speed. I Rev match my downshifts in that to preserve clutch life. I'm pretty good at it, but the Mustang just hits every downshift like butter. No bucking at all.

To my surprise, the car automatically idles up when letting out the clutch on takeoff, no throttle needed. It almost feels like cheating, but I'll bet it preserves clutch lifespan like crazy. I love it!

I could see a rebirth of popularity in manual transmissions with these assists available.

It is programmed in to save the DMS which can be damaged by repeated stalling

I agree, the manual is amazing and night and day from my ‘01. Got a kick out of experimenting with it, just so easy to drive after an 11 year hiatus.

Agreed. After purchasing my manual Dark Horse I was a little concerned about driving manual again; it had been 10 years since I had done so. I had to get the DH out of a very busy section of Toronto so could not afford any hiccups. Fortunately I had watched some videos on the DH assists and was like "This is no sweat"!

I remember test driving a S550 Bullitt a few years back and stalling quite a bit before I ended up having the salesperson drive back to the dealership. Not a pleasant experience.

It sounds like Auto Rev Match could help me out considerably if I were to start daily driving a future GT with a manual, at least initially. Am I mistaken in this thought?

Yes it does help a lot for daily driving with all the traffic, intersections, distracted drivers, road rage, etc. So do the other features included with the manual, hill assist and bringing up the revs when starting in first gear as well as reverse.

The only downside is getting ridiculed in here with comments like “DMS” above. Apparently you’re supposed to drive these like you’re on a track all the time or get shamed.

It's up to 170k, just started acting up (clutch won't disengage). Going to try clutch master cylinder replace, but then it may finally be time for a clutch job. For 3k, I've definitely got my money's worth out of that little car, though!

I think the system would be great for teaching people who've never driven a stick before. Even without it, with a little practice (maybe as little as a couple hours on some quiet back roads), you'd get the stalling out of your system. It's really about building muscle memory. Before long, you don't really think about it.

I had no idea it does this! I turned off that new-fangled rev-match doohickey before I left the dealership. I'll have to give it a try just for kicks!

What about changing gear without releasing the accelerator pedal? Does it auto rev match?

This is the feature I really love. I go over four speedbumps to exit my development and I don't even have to touch the clutch. I just leave it in first gear, clutch out, and drive over them with light taps of the brake. The car provides enough torque to keep the engine going without stalling. Great feature that helps clutch life and my left foot.

Not sure. Never tried that. Seems risky...

with some practice its easy to do I know my gt has no lift shifting. Though i do find the clutch ok it slips well before the gear is wound out many times. Then again my last car was running a Mc Cloud RXT dual disk so its probably me.
