It's always exciting to watch a suspension enthusiast be "born". Given you haven't bought a car yet: you need to test-drive a Mustang or Corvette with MagneRide.

On one hand I'd love to test drive a Magneride Mustang...but I know it's outside what I'm willing to spend on a GT and I'd want to keep a square setup as opposed to the Performance Packs staggered setup. That said, I don't know if square vs staggered makes a difference here or not.

In the back of my mind I'm still considering going manual instead of automatic for some reason. I imagine it's because part of me wants to master manual for daily driving as well as for road tripping once I have some experience and confidence on me.

Someone, anyone, please sell me on why I should get the MT82 instead of the 10 speed.

Easy enough to do one handed and only really need to be able to count to 4, six if you wanna but 4 will do.

Mode or mod? There was a thread not to long ago regarding … however.

Like others have said, drive it for a little first and do your research to understand what you are trying to accomplish. So speed, handling, looks, etc. My advice is to fully understand the negatives, if any, for a particular mod and make certain you can live with them. Example aftermarket exhaust drone. One of the best things about a Mustang is you can make it your own. Best wishes.

Drive it!
The car will let its deficiencies be known rather quickly.
I couldn't deal with the soft floaty stock non-pp suspension for more then a month before I bought coilovers.

Don't mod something for the sake of modding it, let the car tell you what it needs.
Currently dealing with a lot of bump steer, and looking into options to address that.

Great advice, thank you very much for sharing that.

I've actually decided to hold back on exhaust/suspension mods now that I've test driven a Performance Pack with the handling kit (and possibly the progressive lowering springs) I was considering getting. The slightly better steering weight wasn't worth the stiffer feeling ride, even with Magneride (a number of roads here are quite rough). And I like the active exhaust more than the standard or aftermarket ones, enough so that the most I'll consider doing now is getting black tips for it...maybe.

Buy it, drive it, and do lots of research (e.g., on these forums) before spending any money on mods. You don't want to do something and spend the money until you are sure you will like it.
This is excellent advice.

as a couple other people have said, drive it around stock for a bit to get an idea of what you actually want to change vs what you thought you wanted to change. my top 5 recommendations:
1. only go for a carbon fiber hood if you do not care about hood struts and just closing your hood like a normal person. you cannot have/do those with one as it might damage it
2. aftermarket cold air intakes are not worth it on the S650, it comes with cold air intakes stock
3. if you get lowering springs, get used to either backing into spots or becoming an expert at guessing your splitter's distance from the curb/block
4. if this is your daily, put extra thought into how the mods you want will affect the daily driveability and comfort
5. dont cheap out on stuff, but also know when you might be getting robbed under the guise of "quality"

I don’t know what you said but it makes sense to me.
Excellent point.
