Hello all, I have a 2024 5.0 with the 6 speed. I have been noticing that under acceleration I hear a high pitch wine starting at 2,500 rpm. It fades away after another few thousand rpm. Seems to be coming from engine area and can only hear when windows are down. Car has right under 1500 miles. Was hoping sound might go away after break in. Anyone else dealing with this???? Was thinking it might be a loud intake or normal characteristic of engine. Not sure

Belt? Are you able to replicate on demand? Can it be heard while stationary and bringing the rpms into the ‘range’ otherwise could be transmission.

Is it coming from the passenger seat?

Hello! Could you privately message us with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer so I can look into this whine noise concern? Thank you!

Definitely coming from the outside. Under 100% throttle only. Comes on at about 2500-3000 rpm and lasts about 500 rpm.

does not do it when stationary and revving engine

If anyone can attach a sound clip of the whine, that'd be great.

The Coyote does have several characteristic ticks and rattles, but not a whine.

- BBQ tick. At idle, often from underneath the car, there can be a random ticking sound, like someone trying to start a BBQ grill. Ford says it is normal. Many associate the sound with oil and oil control in the engine

- 2K rattle. Typically loudest when cold, the engine will make a rattling sound. between 1500 and 2K RPM. Some think it is the pistons slapping against the cylinder while still warming up. Others believe the rattle is associated with the fuel system

- At idle, with the hood open, the fuel injectors will be clattering/ticking as they cycle on and off

- In the cabin at idle, low-frequency pulses or thuds can often be heard midway down the centerline, in the area of the transmission. I associate these sounds with exhaust pulses. As engine RPMs and frequencies increase, this sound fades

- With the engine at idle, the PCV valve can make sounds associated with electrical short circuits and arching

- When the car is not running, the fuel pumps can sometimes toggle on and off, to maintain pressure in the system. This specific sound is heard most often when opening the Driver door before starting the car
