I'm reading a few of the magazine tests for the 2024 Mustang GTs and Dark Horse, and they're in the mid 12s for the 1/4 mile and low 4s for the 0-60. Yet I hear people are taking them to the track and running like 11s "stock" - some then explain they removed the rear seats/spare, or went with a carbon driveshaft etc but its somehow stock.

I'm trying to get a realistic idea of how much faster they'd be over what I have now, without modifying/tuning a new S650. Has anyone taken their bone stock S650 GT to a track? Manual or automatic doesn't matter. I'd love to buy another stick car but I am not a huge fan of the MT-82.

Start searching the posts...you're right, it's hard to find one that hasn't at least had a drag pack or seats etc taken out

12.1-12.2 @ 115-118 seem to be what the fast ones are running

I went 12.0 stock, stock tires, full interior, carbon traps still in etc… in bad air also.
I was consistently 3/4 tenths quicker and 3 mph faster than a stock 2020 GT 10r car all day.

I weighed 190, 10r80 active exhaust GT.

hope to have it back out tomorrow to see what it does after headers

my car easily has high 11s in it stock in better D/A. Track shots were from a month prior and ran 12.1s back to back.

Nice videos! That's my local track as well.

What happened to that other car in your last video?

Did you run the 1/4 mile with your exhaust in the open position with the active valve system? It still seemed very tame.

Dang. Nicely shot videos and photos. And somebody can drive!

Ford should get you to post their marketing times. And hire whoever did your camera work - kept you in rule of thirds and fabonacci the entire time. Quick panning adjustment during burnout, smooth sequential zoom to keep scale yet keep the action in focus, etc. nice work.

I see Lapeer is not a ringer track anymore. LOL Back in the early 2000's, if you wanted a "good" ET, you went to Lapeer.

For the OP and comparison.. I ran a 7.94 1/8th at 92.92 mph, with a 1.93 60ft here in NC two weeks ago. DA was around 2300. Temps were in the 80's. OEM Conti's (255/19) running E30. Also had Green Filters on the car. Otherwise showroom.

It was I turbo mustang… not sure what happened, but blew out a piston or cracked a ringland if I had to guess.

the track makes “hard tire” cars leave outside of the groove, so I had to stage off to the right.

I have a set of drag radials and have since put headers on, see if I get some runs tomorrow.

yes stock active in track mode.

Looks like 86 dB is Track mode, not bad! Keeps it street legal and hearing safe. Suppressed 5.56 is still 130-140 dB so that's a big difference.

Last time I ran at Lapeer was in 2018 right before they sold it and redid everything, but from 2004 to 2018 the track conditions were OK with some broken surfaces and that bump towards the end. Ubly was in much better shape. I was planning to go to Ubly since they have a Tesla supercharger nearby so I could top off the Model 3 before running at the track.

Eh… break 1st… then replace.. especially at 2500 a pop.

it’s not a stick car… stick cars on drag radials that get into nasty wheel hop possibly may break an axle under certain conditions.

10r80 cars with fluid converters tend to have far fewer issues.

The MT82D4 is a good transmission. A lot of the issues for the MT82 was fixed in mid 2019.

I've heard that for every year the MT82 was used, since 2011! It was always incremental fixes each year.

Smoke a dozen T5s at 3-400hp. You’ll praise the mt82s ability to hold power and high rpm

also the tremec is overrated, people act like it’s a T56 viper spec or something…

Agreed, I know people who build these and they like the MT82D4 better other than the ratios for NA. With FI their perfect.
