Umm the generation 2 Voodoo is reliable... there are some 350s in the 350 forum with over 70k miles on them. The early gen 1s had some problems with burning oil and the oil filters coming loose if not torqued properly.. so if you didn't check your oil every tank of gas ... yes people had issues. But the gen 2 is a proven motor.
Some cars made it to a whole 70k miles, def the poster child for reliability.

just about every single make and model has been lemoned.
Just throwing an anecdote in when I keep hearing that the Gen II is supposedly more reliable when thatā€™s just as much hearsay as stating otherwise

Anyone seen what the GT350s are selling for on Bring A Trailer vs. The Mach 1s? Yep must be that unreliable motor holding the values way down... oh wait...

Good news! If you donā€™t drive your GT350R, not only will you NOT have to worry about your engine exploding, itā€™ll keep the residual value higher on BaT!

The rest of us literally donā€™t care.

My gen 2 threw a rod at 2159 miles. Not sure how proven they are. Know quite a few people that had gen 2 engines go.

Iā€™m definitely on that list. Dropped a valve at 9,500 miles on a 2019. Every single track attack car has had at least 1 new engine, the worst had 3.

My brother dumped his 350R for a gt500 and has been so happy and satisfied with his decision.

just did injectors, pulley, E85 tune and makes almost 900 wheel.
Used to always say the 350R engine and trans was just glass pistons with tooth picks and popsicle sticks

slower than a dog draggin his ass.
Iā€™m sure an A10 M1 would cook it.

Just be glad yours has been reliable and call it a day.

The Gen IVā€™s dual intake setup immediately makes it a better base for a flat plane crankshaft setup if Ford chooses to pursue that route again, so reliability concerns shouldnā€™t be so bad

To which I say hell yes. If I had to pick one type of V8 quality, high revs > big displacement/supercharged stuff any day of the week
Iā€™d agree, but only if they can find a way to give the thing some torque where it counts. Because a forced induction v8 is an absolute thrill ride in comparison to what weā€™ve had NA thus far.

They're testing the car as it was delivered from Ford. I'd expect a new front fascia for a new Super Snake.
Thanks. Thought that was a near-reveal of the Shelby. Hope they go all-in on make a great aesthetic as well as engine and suspension improvements.

I wouldnā€™t put much trust in what people pay for cars on Bap. The wholesale Manheim auctions are much more accurate on the current market prices of performance cars.
