Suspected Shelby American S650 mule spotted testing

Not to be confused with a factory Shelby model. Using the outgoing Shelby American GT as an example of what’s typically done:

• body work (hood, bumpers, spoiler)
• wheels
• springs
• sway bars
• camber plates
• exhaust
• optional supercharger

An Instagram user by the name of Stewart Webb has posted a few low-resolution photos of an S650 Ford Mustang development vehicle outside of Shelby American headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada, hinting at the impending release of a new Mustang-based creation. The entire front end of the S650 is wrapped in camouflaging vinyl, with more of the stuff applied across the trunk.

At the front, a completely new bumper design is evident, different from what is offered on the EcoBoost, GT, and Dark Horse variants. There's also an aggressive hood with a central "power dome" of sorts. This hood may also be vented, but it's difficult to say. At the back, an integrated spoiler is also new.

Right, think Super Snake, which is a Shelby American product. They're a separate entity from Ford's Shelby (ie Ford Performance) division, which is in-house.

Shelby American products don't do anything for me, but I'd rather have them exist than not. Factory models modified post-production with bolt-ons and some body changes.

Something of a proxy of what could be done to a S650. Even the basic packages are not cheap.

SuperSnake builds are currently available for GT500-like cars. A 6G Member recently turned his GT500 in for a build; he'd waited close to two years.

At the moment, Shelby America has the two lines: something to support the GT and then 500. I'd assume they'll continue along those same paths, maybe the "mild" GT package, and at least for now, a future "wild" DH/SuperSnake/wide body kit.
