  • New Ford Mustang coupe and convertible are now available in Europe with a dynamic fresh design, revolutionary digital experience and enhanced performance
  • Immersive jet plane-style cockpit features an intuitive dual display, SYNC 4 connectivity, and “touch and swipe” controls powered by Unreal Engine software
  • Mustang Dark Horse is in its element on the track, with upgraded suspension, aerodynamics and 5.0-litre V8 engine for race car-inspired performance
COLOGNE, Germany, Feb. 1, 2024 – New Mustang 1 is an American icon reborn, combining

razor-sharp design with the signature styling that has captured the imaginations of drivers across the globe for 60 years.

Now available to order in Europe, the world’s bestselling sports car 2 features a digital cockpit supported by cutting-edge Unreal Engine computer game technology, enhanced performance, and an exhilarating driving experience.

“New Mustang is everything that our customers expect from an undisputed automotive icon – and then some. Surprising, connected technology really complements and elevates performance enhancements that will win the hearts of a whole new generation of drivers,” said Jon Williams, general manager, Ford Blue, Europe.

Fresh design, timeless appeal

New Mustang – available as a coupe or drop-top convertible – has chiselled looks and design inspired by six decades of heritage. The sculptured bonnet and powerful rear haunches are key to a muscular presence that has been setting pulses racing since the very first Mustang launched in 1964. A new front spoiler and side skirts improve aerodynamics, while LEDs update the classic three-bar taillamps.

Mustang convertible offers eye-catching style with open-air freedom. The fully lined and insulated roof can be raised or lowered in eight seconds – faster than the world record 100 metre sprint – and its compact design means the boot can still accommodate two golf bags.

Inside, a fully digital display, with a 12.4-inch instrument panel and a 13.2-inch central screen angled towards the driver, creates a jet plane cockpit feel. Customisable with a choice of colours and visuals, the Unreal Engine gaming software supports interactive animated graphics, and the driver can easily alter settings via the central display by touching and swiping.

Ford doubled the computing power of the entertainment system for new Mustang. The SYNC 4 3 system adapts to display the functions that each driver uses most. Smartphone integration for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto 4 is wireless. 5G connectivity 5 supports music streaming through the high-quality B&O audio system, and cloud-connected navigation for real-time traffic updates.

Spectacular and athletic performance

The new 5.0-litre engine is designed for iconic American V8 performance and responsiveness. A new dual air intake system allows the engine to breathe more freely for a quicker response, with an Active Exhaust system that changes the engine sound and volume for hushed urban driving that won’t upset the neighbours, or maximum open-road freedom.

Up to six Drive Modes adjust how the vehicle responds, whether for more confidence on a wet surface, more fun on a twisty road, or all-out performance on the race track. Normal, Sport, Slippery, Drag and Track 6, 7 modes can be selected, as well as the option to customise settings.

A Performance Package is standard, to give drivers a true sense of control and engagement on road or track. Brembo brakes behind the 19-inch alloy wheels provide consistent performance and a limited-slip differential reduces wheelspin for better grip – especially when cornering. Optional MagneRide¼ suspension monitors road conditions one thousand times a second and adjusts the settings to ensure the best possible control and comfort.

Mustang Dark Horse is a true thoroughbred

Mustang Dark Horse 1 provides the foundation for Mustang-based motorsport programmes that will see the iconic sports car compete on six of seven continents around the world in 2024 – including at legendary tracks such as Le Mans and Interlagos.

At home on the road and the track, Mustang Dark Horse features unique functional design elements that highlight its performance pedigree, with race car-inspired fixed rear wing, side skirts and rear diffuser boosting aerodynamic performance too.

A high-output version of the new 5.0-litre V8 engine delivers extra performance, with a choice of a 10-speed automatic or unique TREMEC six-speed manual gearbox. On-track performance is boosted by enhanced suspension, improved cooling for endurance and grippy Pirelli tyres.

Mustang is also available with unique Blue Ember metallic paint, while the interior features Indigo Blue stitching and a dark metallic gloss finish for a distinctive feel.

The visual differences are quite small now.

From what I can see
  • Bigger sidemirrors
  • Front Sidemarker is white instead of orange
  • Rearlights are split at the lower 1/4 into light+brake in the upper 3/4 and sequential amber turn signal on the lower quarter
  • Dark Horse can't get the handling package parts, but get's a different spoiler with an appearance package
  • Overall customization/options were tuned down very hard for europe. No Night Pony, no Bronze, no California, no stripes, only red brake caliper color available, no painted graphics on DH, etc

Thanks for the summary. Tire sizes are going to be similar? Also - assuming that the EU DH gets all the coolers by default? Tranny, Oil and Diff coolers?

it's not fair that you overseas guys get a GT with -47 hp and -20 torque and a DH with -53 hp and -20 torque compared to the US models. hopefully the S650 can be tuned soon so that lost power can be recovered

it's basically due to stronger CO2 regulations. they had to tweak the european versions so it would pass the norms set by the EU. Even if you import a US model, it needs to go through certifications/changes to be authorised on the roads of the country it was imported into. Nevertheless we still get to drive these awesome cars. Here in Switzerland the configurator and prices are not online yet 😑. Cannot wait to swap my S550 for a new one. I need to call my dealer in the week.

I may have an explanation as to why we don't have the Nite Pony Package in Europe. The package includes a black painted roof. In the US Scheduling Information it has been listed again and again for months that the black roof (and thus the Nite Pony Package) is not available.
September 2023
Exhausted Availability:
- 60G MustangÂź Nite Pony Package Due limited capacity on Black Painted Roof, Dealers should consider removing this option on stock orders to eleminate delays in scheduling the order
Oktober2023
Retail only ordering restrictions:
- 60G MustangÂź Nite Pony Package
Januar & Februar2024
Exhausted Availability:
- 60G MustangÂź Nite Pony Package
I think in order not to delay the European models any further, Ford Europe has decided not to offer the Nite Pony Package to us (for now)

not a lot of footage, but my preferred dealer has received their Dark Horse (Blue Ember US model sadly). I'll have to go visit to check it out (probably in 3 weeks as they are 1h15 away).

In the footage 3rd car after the green and the black GT500

some other angles from their facebook page

The DH in the IG story is an US model (orange sidemarkers in the front and small mirrors)

shit yes didn't see them . Well let's hope that we get the spoiler as it is advertised as such in the configurator, brochures and official video presentations of the car.

Maybe interesting to ask in these dealerships where they have the small lip if those models were ordered with the spoiler delete, or why they do not have the advertised DH spoiler.
