This (Dark Horse) is my first RWD and this is my first time driving it in snow. We generally don't get much, if any snow, where I live in Maryland. The three or so inches we got yesterday is the first I can remember in the last few years that was more than a dusting. Because we get so little snow, I replaced the summer. tires with all-season tires at the beginning of the winter. As can be predicted, my back end was all over the place coming back from dinner last night. Slippery Mode (I love that name) helped somewhat, but I still slid in a few places. I am thinking about getting actual winter tires, in case we get more snow this year. Other than the cost and the increased wear on the tires from not having much snow, would there be any downsides to winter tires in this case?
