I've had a couple of rough looking Amish Dudes pull up next to me a stop lights and make their horses whinny repeatedly; egging me on to race them. Both were dual horse carriages. I threw some cracked oats out the passenger window to distract the horses and smoked their @$$3$. 😉

Actually; I've had several people rev the pi$$ out of their cars as they went by me, or follow me doing the same weak *****. I've resisted the urge to become one of those "Mustang Drivers"; unlike one of our more recent Forum Members.

The first month that I owned my Mustang, I was taking my wife and Mom out for dinner. I was in the left lane, cruising at about 70-80mph, with the flow of traffic. To my left, in the Express Lane, a new-ish Corvette pulled up alongside me. He looked over, obviously checking out the Mustang. He then gunned it a few times and took off, as there was nobody in front of him.

I was all, "My guy... I'm in traffic, with my wife and mom in the car... I'm not racing."

Mostly challengers trying to goad me... But honestly, most folks should know it's an EB and that it wouldn't be much to race. I'm also part of the "I actually pay attention to speed limits" club.

That said, it still moves like a raped ape in drag mode.

I've had a Lamborghini try a roll race against my bike, 2nd gear disposed of him.
An RS6 tried from the lights once, same result.
But these were on the street so no super high speeds involved.
Very few people try it in cars here, no one's challenged the Mustang yet.
But when I had my Cupra SUV I gapped a Yamaha R1 for 40 metres, lots of traction with AWD and a fat torque curve that starts at 1700 rpm made it very quick off the line.

Years ago I'd visit a friend at his welding shop at night. We'd drink a few beers and weld our projects. Used to be these youngsters who'd race the four lane quarter mile of the street with their ricers. So one night I took my dogs clear blue "beer" bowl and put my extremely strong flashlight in it. The thing lit up like a cops light. Took it out and was flashing it at them. They took off like cockroaches when you turn the light on. One night a DPS tried to arrest four of them and one got away. No idea why the kids even stopped. The rest took off. I caught up with them real quick.

Around here in the North Shore of Chicago, it’s very wealthy so there’s more Porsche, Audi, BMW, and Tesla’s than anything else and honestly the Teslas just love to show off , it’s pretty much every time I take a drive. I laugh, because I can throw an iPad 100 ft down the road faster than my car any day, so screw electric crap cars!… lmao
Last night, the wife and dog were on the way back from dinner when a 2025 Harley Road Glide made it a point to bypass all traffic and get next to me at a stop light on route 41. We floored it and he slightly pulled away until I shifted into 2nd, then by 3rd he was a car length behind and we were going way too fast and I let off. Dark Horse for the win! Lol

Come one now, losing from a Tesla doesn't count, but winning from a Harley counts?

Well, yes. Tesla’s with the ludicrous will blow away a gt500 all day long.
The Harley is 105hp and 130lbs of torque at 811lbs. Much more equal if you do the math. Also both gas engines.

@AzkAdAsh ..... cars that actually count are BMW, Porsche, Subaru and a lot of teenagers in VWs and Hondas that are probably turbo-ed. - but - the ridiculous number of family cars that want to race is nuts. Drivers try to push from behind but I don't bite as I don't want to be the idiot who trips a radar up ahead. I get a lot of compliments a lights too and people who want to look at the engine in parking lots. Bottom line - there seems a never ending curiosity with Mustangs. I swear I get more looks and questions than a corvette on fire at the side of the road.....and it's not like I have a tricked-out DH!
S650 Mustang Who's trying to race you? 20240526_133721

You spoke first about Tesla's in general.

Then you said ludicrous Tesla will blow away a GT500 any day.

Then you said the Harley is a closer match.

I don't think the Harley is a closer match to a GT500.
