We’ve owned 3 GT’s now, and really TRIED to go with the EcoBoost on the last one….

With all due respect, the boss 429 was quite fast by the standards of the day. Calling it a dude is quite niave and silly. Getting off the line with all that power and no traction control in a 4 speed top loader was a skill few people in these times can appreciate.

Besides, I'm not really sure where you are going with all this anyway. The ecoboost, or any modern engine, cannot be fairy compared to 50 year old iron old big block technology.
I did not call it a dud. Motor Trend did. Sorry if I did not make it clear that was a quote.

The Car Craft effort with headers and solid cam tells a different story than blaming the traction. That was on a dyno with attempts to make more power.

And where am I going? I already got there: An unfair comparison to 50 year old big block technology!

:like:

You made my point for me, or, that was my point. It is not even a fair comparison.

I think the Ecoboost Mustang is a cool car, and I do not even own one.

I do wonder if it would make a very fun HPDE track day car with super sticky tires and some horsepower and suspension mods, some weight reduction efforts (pull another 300 pounds out of it) with the Dark Horse handling package brakes. Just a thought . . .

We all thought we had the cat's meow of hot cars back in the 60s and 70s. The truth is, a lowly late-model Eco-Boost would dust almost of all of them, including my 1970 Duster 340!!

LOL, you get my point, then.

My first car was a Duster! :sunglasses:

I do understand now that you are 73+ but please look carefully who is replying to who.

You are fighting literally everybody, just because you think people are replying to you while they are in a conversation with somebody else.

If you see text in dark grey, that's the part where people reply to. If your name is not in the dark grey section, but you see a different name there, then that's who they are replying to.

I see you are stressing out too much just because you don't know how forums work.
Yeah,, right…..

Looks like I missed some fireworks earlier. I see we have a newly banned Ecoboost owner.

No. I believe it will say admin or moderator next to their name. Honestly I've seen very little active moderation on this site. Something he said must have flagged a response.

You're welcome.
As you guys are mods here, you should both be ashamed as to how you treat members here. I figured my reporting of the tenor of yours and his posts was doing no good exactly for this reason……….no need to use your “humor’ to reply to me…….I am out of here!

Did you even read my response? We aren't mods, and we've been trying to help you out. Oh well. ☹

Well, initially, because I am 73, and my reaction times are not what they used to be, you know? I ended up making the right decision once I heard an EB under the whip….not pleasant to my ears at all.
I'm 78 and I'm not a bit worried about my reaction time. The only thing I've noticed is my jaw hurts whenever I'm in my car. My smile is killing me! Glenn

I get it….Once you drive a V8 it’s hard to go back. I drove a Plymouth Prowler for 6 years, and as insanely cool as that car was, I got tired of the V6. I really missed the sound and thrust of a V8. Then got an 06 Mustang GT used in 07, and drove that all the way up to last month. I really loved the sound of the 4.6 through Flowmasters.

But damn, this 5.0 through variable exhaust is way too much fun. 😁
I was using the FAVORITE button to go silent when I come back into the neighborhood but after reading someone set their's to TRACK mode I did the same. Now when I come home I have to do four button presses to get to SILENT mode. I don't care because it only takes one button push to get to track mode! Glenn

I explained many times to you how the forum works and how you can identify who is reacting on who.

It is very easy to see if a forum member reacts to you or reacts to somebody else.

The name of the person a member reacts to is also mentioned in that comment.

I think you are getting confused since you are the topic starter and you get e-mails or notifications that somebody replied to your thread.

Not everybody who replies on your thread reacts on you. That's not how the forum works.

Instead of getting mad at everybody just because you still didn't figure out how a forum works is something I can help you with explaining, but you seem to not be willing to accept thr fact that you don't understand how this works.

If you keep on like this you will have even more miscommunications with others.
