We’ve owned 3 GT’s now, and really TRIED to go with the EcoBoost on the last one….

FWIW, I got mine for 7k below MSRP. Sticker price for mine was 54K and I got it for 47K. I would not have been able to get a similarly equipped ecoboost for 13K less than that.
Glad you got that! Ecoboost buyers get discounts too. Not as much because there is more profit in the GTs. It definitely doesn't cost them $13,535 more to build the GT. What year model did you buy?

Like I've said I like them all but, this one is probably my favorite year and color Mustang Grande either a 71 or 73.

Ofcourse it doesn't cost Ford 13k more to build the GT.

Do you really think Ford or any other business can still exist if they are selling products for the same price as they make them?

What in the world?????

Well, all I was really saying is that I no longer NEEDED the nearly 500 HP GT, and originally thought that EB HP would be enough for me now……and probably would have been if I could have put up with the sounds they made…..OK?….hope you can understand this and not continue to make fun of people here…..
He wasn't even replying to you sir. No one here is out to get you. Take a breath.

Of course I know that and everybody else here does too. So, let's say it costs Ford $5000 more to build the GT. How much profit should they put on it? 50% profit would bring the price to $7500 more than the Eco. If that's what it costs them, they put an extra $6000 on that price. Just saying that's a lot of extra profit.

Now calculate what it would cost to make an ecoboost.

You know that’s not true…..why is your default position here on the forum (which is predominately friendly and welcoming) to make fun of and insult people? You need a reboot, or just please ignore my posts, PLEASE?

It's a 2024 and I bought it new in February of this year. It was sitting on the dealers lot for about a year. The GT's don't seem to sell as well as the ecoboosts because a lot of people (like yourself) can't justify the 10 - 13K price hike. But it worked out for me because I got a nice discount on it.

Yes, I did too…way below the employee pricing in effect at the time…

I literally quoted a different person and not you.

You are not only drunk but blind too.
How the hell did you come to the conclusion that I'm talking to you?

Why would you even think you would be happy stepping down into an econobox after a string of 5.0s?
The Ecoboost Mustang runs the quarter mile in the 13s and would have embarrassed a lot of the drivers at my high school in the early 80s with their supposedly "fast cars."

An old Roadrunner with a big block 383 would have been running in the 14s.

The hemi model would run in the 13s, but none of us could afford that car. And even then the Ecoboost Mustang would be giving it a run for its money. Tuned Ecoboosts are running 12s, and now there is going to be tuning for the 2024-25 models.

Why would anybody make fun of the Ecoboost?

And, yeah, I bought the Dark Horse, but I am still impressed with the technological changes that have brought us so much horsepower.

The Ecoboost produces more horsepower than the Chevrolet 350 did in 1969 and more than the Ford "HI-PO" 289 version in the 1969 GT 350. It also has more power than the 1969 Windsor and Cleveland 351 engines (the Cleveland was introduced at the end of 1969 and had 300 horsepower).

If you stepped up to the Boss 429, you got 375 horsepower. Maybe enough to beat the Ecoboost, depending upon weight, tires, and so on.
