Sure it is. But, they may have horrible money management that ruins great profit products. The figures I posted above don't lie. They are what they are and that 5.0 crate engine Ford is making way more than Pauls Automotive Engineering.
Here is the same engine from another site at $1500 lower price. Some here say Ford only makes $3000 on average profit on Mustangs. Here is an example that Ford is making half that much or more just on an engine! Remember, this website is making a profit on its $1500 lower price so, Ford is...
Except it's what we are talking about. Cost and profits both influence the price. So, in the end we all give a crap what the cost of the Mustang is. I still say it's the main reason sales are low.
And this is retail price. Not cost to building the car which is why we are talking about cost vs profit. I think this shows there is a lot of profit in the GT price right here.
The ecoboost is a great car. That's why I have one. It's the same car to me as the GT. It just has a smaller worse sounding engine/exhaust. Another reason that I don't think has been mentioned about slumping Mustang sales is, people may already have a Mustang and are happy with it. Don't feel...
No, I don't think it's worth that huge difference. A base Mustang starts around $32,000. For me, a base GT is not worth 30%+ more. I wanted a GT when I bought my ecoboost. The main reason I didn't get it was price. The second was worse gas mileage. I didn't really care about the extra power. I...
LOL is right. A base ecoboost Mustang is priced fair. Bump up to a premium with heated steering wheel/seats and navigation and the price starts getting ridiculous. Not to mention buying a GT, GT Premium or higher. Of course a Ford rep is going to say it's priced right.
Ford is making what they want on their Mustangs. They are not pricing it thinking "Let's sell our Mustangs at a really low profit so all the Mustang fans can have it at a low cost". They are selling it at a profit they want to have. The original post of this thread had a link in it that said...
Ecoboost profits might be $3000 to $4000 per sale but, I just looked up a $37,000 EcoBoost on cars.com and right below it a GT that was priced $60,000. You can bet there is a lot more profit on that GT than $3000. The extra cost to build that GT is surely not $23,000.
It's price like most have said. It's not the economy. Maybe partly covid time period lost sales a reason for overpricing and trying to make up past profits. My wife just bought a 2024 Escape with sticker for $36,000 out the door for $33,000. Can't tell me the V8 premium Mustang costs $20,000...
In 2018 I bought a brand new Mustang and it had 20 inch wheels with skinny tires and road like a tank. I almost took it back and took back the 2014 I traded in it rode so bad. I ended up keeping it and getting 17 inch wheels with much higher side walls And nice riding tires and it’s a world of...
