Ordered a 26 GT Premium last month and am paying 4% below dealer invoice (dealer cost before holdbacks, marketing give backs, etc..). The MSRP was $68,865 and I'm getting it for $61,152. I plan to add the fp800s package which has an installed cost of $21,380 so the final/total car cost is $82,532.

Would it have been better to just order a Dark Horse SC? Are there differences in the DH that are going to make me wish I'd gone ahead and bit the bullet for the higher cost car? I really didn't even research this option but now I'm having second thoughts.

Thanks for the feedback.

That's a good discount for a special order. Usually see that kind of discount on lot cars. Of course, some will jump in here with swagger saying they got $10k off. Despite the math errors some make, I think you're doing well with that deal.

The SC would've been much more $. If you're adding the fp800s package then maybe just find a darkhorse because that would be almost the same. I think your wanting something like the darkhorse anyway hence adding the package to a GT.

You better take a long hard look at your $80K investment in a GT Mustang! I hope you have deep pockets to take a giant loss if you want to sell it in a couple of years. To any dealer, it's just a GT. Add a Super Charger and that lowers the price of the car.
You are throwing good money at a bad idea.

Thank you. I thought the DH SC in premium trim and optioned out as mine is was over $100k MSRP. Am I missing something?

Yes a darkhorse SC is way over 100k brand new. Are you referring to the new darkhorse SC or a darkhorse there is a difference. One has a different motor. 5.0 or 5.2 predator motor.

I have no intentions of ever selling it. I'm retired and this is just a fair weather car for my wife (and me occasionally) to take out and enjoy.
I've owned AMG cars so I understand what depreciation is all about unfortunately!

Yes, a dark horse with a supercharge (of which i'm a big fan of as i had one in a MB AMG car)

Well do you mean a darkhorse and then buy the supercharger to add on? Because the darkhorse SC comes with the supercharger. Big difference between the 2. Which car are you interested in? I think your not understanding between the 2. You can buy a darkhorse and then buy a supercharger to install it.

If you aren't going to track the car, just save your money and skip the FP800S package and enjoy the GT. You could always add the Ford Performance Supercharger if you really want some additional straight line speed, but otherwise I think you will be satisfied with your deal on the GT and would be wise to leave it alone.

Dark horse with a supercharger I’ve GT with fp800s is the comparison I’m seeking to understand. Thank you.

Thank you for that opinion. Curiously, what are the reasons for not doing the full package other than cost? Am I setting myself up for a lot of maintenance/repair issues by having that package installed?
